I love these kinds of lizards I saw at the pet store a long time ago, and we might get one but I forgot what they are called :o  Can you help me? They're big black lizards, with yellow spots, smaller than a foot long. Is that enough info :/ ? They're like JUMBO salamanders, like a huge Yellow Spotted Salamander but bigger and fatter. They live in mud or damp dirt.

No, they aren't geckos. They're like JUMBO salamanders, like a huge Yellow Spotted Salamander but bigger and fatter. They live in mud or damp dirt.

Sounded like a small male uromastyx to me at first, but they certainly don't live in damp mud. Maybe a yellow spotted Ameiva? Or a lacerta? Sorry I don't have pictures but you can find them on yahoo.

I had one of those lizards (RIP Tanker :(), it's not that though. It's like that though, except JUMBO and they don't live in water.
