Jasper is our Chinchilla. His special coloring is called White Mosaic. When we got him he was a fur chewer and an eight-month-old little baby, but since coming home he hasn't taken one bite of his coat. His whiskers were all chewed off and he was such a skittish little guy. He'd bark and chatter his teeth whenever you got too close. Now, Jasper has turned into quite the little love bug!
He loves attention, although he'd never admit it. He nuzzles your hand during scritches and then holds onto it with his little paw if you try and leave too early! He'll also get your attention by biting down on your sleeve and pulling your hand in.
His hobbies include watching TV and snuggling with his older brother Woodrow, perching on mom's shoulder or head, eating hay and destroying anything made of wood within reach. He loves to wall surf in his playpen too. He's recently taken to snuggling with his toys when Woodrow's too busy. Whether it's a hanging toy, chew stick, blue cloud rock or slice of loofah, he'll cuddle right up with it.
This little smart guy knows the sound of the treat bag, chew stick drawer and the jingle of a fresh bowl of pellets. His favorite trick is jumping on mom's head and then crawling down her back to run around the living room! He still hasn't caught on to mom's crafty dust bath trick though ...
