He is joyful when his life is normal and ecstatic when life is better. We knew very little about Guinea pigs when my wife and I adopted him. We learned a lot very quickly; we learned to socialize and mimic various cavy herd gestures such as rubbing our hands across our head/face to show that if it was safe enough for us to groom, it was safe enough for him to feel secure. Such behaviors have become normal in our home when there is an event like a loud noise or bird outside.
We never knew guinea pigs could be as active as ferrets, which we have experience with - to be honest, they always seemed like they would be kind of dull pets but he is full of energy and emotions. He has brightened our lives and home in so many unexpected ways and has taught us to be more joyful humans.
