I got Pingu when he was 7 weeks old. He was actually the second Pingu because the intern at the pet store accidentally gave me his sister. I had to exchange her for this rat after 10 days when I started to notice the absence of for a better word, external parts. I should have noticed earlier but I just thought that he was a late bloomer.
Pingu is still a bit skittish when it comes to unexpected noises. He is starting to learn that he gets treats when I click my clicker. Pingu shares his cage with Pom who is about 2 months older. They both have their playfights and both try to be the dominant one, but Pom usually wins. Pingu is a bit of a squealer when Pom is powergrooming him too roughly again.
He has bitten me twice since I have him. Both times because I was careless, so it was not really his fault. Although rat teeth can hurt pretty much when they pierce your finger like 4 mm deep, I know he did not mean to hurt me.
Pingu is a gentle rat, usually docile. He's squealing right now from the powergrooming by Pom again. He is also my first rat that is very vocal, too!
