Here
are two pictures of my good buddy Hal. In one he is standing in
front of a picture painted of him by my husband. In the other he is
on his hind legs begging for a bite of flour tortilla. We adopted Hal
three years ago when his owner could no longer care for him. He was
very sick when he came to us with a recurring mouth abscess and
parasites. We learned everything we could about iguanas, got him some
excellent veterinary care, graduated him from a small cage to a
converted closet, and he became a member of our household. Hal is now
nearly four feet long and almost ten pounds. He lives in our office on
wire shelves that hang above our heads. (As they should, feels Hal.)
He has full access to the entire house and can often be seen hanging
around in the living room watching TV, begging under our feet as we
cook, or chasing the cats through the house. He is a regal, comical,
intelligent, and a welcome addition to our family. We can't imagine
living without our good buddy Hal.
You can see more of Hal at his website.
