I had to say goodbye...

Yesterday we had to put Honey down. She was really old and very sick and it was her time. She wouldn't have made it one more day, and if we didn't make the decision to put her to sleep she would have been in alot of pain..

I have had Honey since I was 3 years old (I am 15 now). My sister (green_chameleon_girl) and I treated Honey like a sister more than anything because she grew up with us. It was very hard letting her go.. and I miss her alot. I wish she could still be here with me happy and healthy. I know she is in a better place and she isn't suffering anymore. I miss her so much I didn't realize how hard it was to post this and my heart goes out to everyone else that has lost a loved one, because it doesn't really hit you how much you miss them until they are gone.

Honey was my first dog that I actually got to know and love. Before when I was younger we had 2 poodles but I don't remember much about them. Honey lived a happy life and she was well loved. A couple of weeks ago we went camping and we took Honey and Taffy with us, and it made me happy to see Honey sitting on the beach basking in the sun and being so relaxed. I know Taffy misses her alot too. Taffy seems so lost without Honey. In Honey's last few hours she was so weak..she couldn't walk and she could barely lift her head. I sat with her and cuddled her and talked to her. I really wish this wasn't real because I miss her so much

This morning when I went to go put Taffy outside, she stopped and she was waiting for you like always.. and she was so confused.. and when I walked into the kitchen where your favourite spot was and I didn't see you there..I started crying because I miss you so much and I wish I could have you back
I know we did the right thing..but it feels so wrong without her. The house feels so empty
