We had over 5 inches of rain last night, and several roads were washed out. I am now prepping to go to Farmer's Market, so won't be updating the sites until late tonight for tomorrow. So sorry folks, I know you are expecting that.

Karen, how did you and Kermit and critters all make out with the fierce weather?

I hope you all are well, and I'm sending best wishes to everyone, all species, in the affected area.
I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Thank you. Today's Dog, Cat and Pet of the Day are up.

Sadly, in Thursday's storm, we lost all this year's 38 guinea keets. The parents are okay, but as we got more than 5 inches of rain that night, we suspect they may have just drowned in the nest, or got wet and chilled and died, we just do not know. Guinea hens hide their nests very effectively.

All the others fared okay, we did lose power last night for three hours, and many roads are closed because of washouts. Our road - which is a dirt road- looks like someone took bites out of the edges, and some folks have a chasm between the end of their driveway and the street. But no loss of human life, at least.
