    Fitz The Fabulous

Hello Fitz in Ireland and congratulations on being our very worthy Dog Of The Day. What a stalwart young fellow you are. You are an inspiration to all of us who might sometimes be tempted to give in to our limitations. Reading your story just made me proud of you for living life to the fullest despite your vanished eyesight. Now you know just how handy that Basset nose really is and you're letting others know about it too. To your people I say "Thank you for helping Fitz live in the mainstream of life" and thanks for sharing his story.

    Fitz the Fabulous!!!

Hi Fitz in beautiful Ireland! A very happy Dog of the Day to you, beautiful Basset boy!
Oh, how touched I was by your human's loving tribute, your inspirational story, your heart wrenching, heart melting pics, sweetheart! I have to be honest and tell you that my first thought when looking at your photo spread was, "oh, just look at those beautiful, soulful brown eyes! You may be sightless, but your eyes are full of life, full of love! As "jspence" has said, you haven't' allowed your blindness to keep you from enjoying every single minute of your wonderful life to its fullest! You've got too much living and loving to do, right Fitz? What an inspiration your indomitable spirit and determination are to us all, Fitz, especially to we humans! What an extra special pup you are, and how blessed your family is, having a beautiful (inside and out) best friend and loving companion in you! You're a treasure!!!
Thanks for the BIG smiles, sweetheart! I hope you're enjoying your much deserved day of honor, beautiful boy, being spoiled extra rotten, and love to pieces!
