    Is it time yet?

    Mom....it's dinnertime.
    Mom....it's dinnertime.
    Mom....it's dinnertime.
    Mom....it's dinnertime.
    Mom....it's dinnertime.

I just don't get it. When I'm working Max and Speckles don't get fed until 8 pm most nights.

I've been home for the last 3 days and they are begging for dinner at 5 pm. What's the difference? Just because I'm home they get dinner earlier? As I type this Max is at my side screaming for dinner. Should I let him wait until his regular time or give in?
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Isn't the real question how long can you stand the reminders?

Some people say cats can tell time...but seeing as you've been home earlier than usual, I say make them wait. If you can stand the caterwauling

I think I would let them wait until the regular time. Samson begs for his food 24/7, and we free feed. He would be enormous if we fed him every time he begged.

I don't know, Slick! I just don't know if I could hold out on them! LOL, when Grover wants to eat, I just can't resist her or Stubby.

I let the crying go on for about 20 min. then I caved. What's a Meowmie to do! He looks up at me with those pitiful eyes and lets out this even more pitiful cry. It's all....it's all....just too much.....

    Richard, shall we sing?

I"m glad to know you caved because I do every weekend!! They pull the same stunt on me when I'm home and I cave every single time! You know the old saying...if you can't beat them.....CAVE!

This amazes me as well. At the weekends the girls come running every time I go into the kitchen and they wrap themselves round me hours earlier than they would normally be fed!

Of course, there is always the possibility that Max and Speckles sit howling from 5 o'clock every night!

    LOL

I free feed Josie but it doesn't matter . . . if I'm in the kitchen, she's screaming & begging for SOMETHING!

I think they think if we're eating, they should be eating too . . . and eating whatever we're eating!

    Cats!

    LOL

    Sorry to nitpick Richard - I'm sure that's "5 o.clock somewhere"

    Altogether now............................

Slick - I wouldn't have been able to stand it for that long - I'd have fed the brutes to get some peace!!!! Ah - that explains why Ketchum is sooooo overweight. Doh!!

I think Amberlee has it right. It's just a matter of how long you can stand it.

Poor Max, such an undernourished starved little guy.....
