    R.I.P. Young'n

i woke up this morning to find one of my chicks dead. it was Young'n. i kinda knew she wouldn't live very long. she was sooo much smaller than the rest, wasn't very active and was always as close to the heat lamp as possible. i miss her and wish i could have done more to help her.

    Young'n-

Yes unfortunately young chicks like that bought from feed stores (especially around Easter) never really seem to be too healthy. I hope she is having fun on the RB with all her other chicky friends!

I am so sorry. Raising chicks can be fun, but heartbreaking sometimes.

RIP Young'n: You are dearly loved and missed

    thanks everyone.
i was thinking of getting another chick. the place close to me doesn't have the silkies though. they have rhode island reds. i'm doing some research on the rhode island reds. if i like them i might get one to join my flock.

Lute, I'm so sorry! That must have been horrible. I'm glad she's happy now in that big barnyard in the sky.

Why donīt you just raise the ones you have until adulthood, then consider buying another chick.

Well, she'd have to raise the chick seperately until it is almost an adult. lute, I sent you a pm.
