    ((Jack's first agility trial ~ 12 pics))

Jack's first agility trial was yesterday! I was so proud of him, he did way better than I expected. Hes usually crazy in new situations, but he was SOO well behaved yesterday. I think all of those obedience and agility classes are starting to pay off!

My handsome boy, he was sleeping until I got up and moved to take the picture.

He dug a hole and tried to lay in it!

Getting some lovin' from my mom

Then it was time for our first run! It was called Fullhouse and you basically pick your own course and get the required points. Poor Jack, we had him measured when we got there and they told us he'd be jumping
20". We had only ever practiced on 16" jumps :/ The jumps at the trial also had two bars, and hes only ever seen them with one. Needless to say, he refused to jump most of the time (it was never his favorite part anyway) and he went around a lot. We ended up qualifying though, and got 3rd place.

Here he is resting after our first run

Took him for a little romp in the field

    More coming!

My mom and I absolutetly fell in love with this little guy!

My mom couldn't stop talking about him, and later when the owners were by the pen we went over to ask if we could pet him. She told us that he was 8 months old, and available for free to an agility home Now, my mother always complains about having too many dogs as it is, this time I was the one convincing her that we don't need another dog

But he sure was cute, and very well mannered!

Well, then I had my last run of the day (since it was J's first time, I only entered two)

I was stupid and entered JUMPERS (course made up of Jumps and a tunnel) I signed up for it before I knew he was jumping 20. Darn. We actually ended up NQing (didn't qualify) because we went over time, hehe. It was a super easy straight forward course, but he kept going around jumps. (which he has NEVER done before!!)
Like this picture shows. He was heading straight for the blue jump and went around the tire

Had to go back, on track again

Even though he didn't do great on the actual runs, I was so proud that he was so well behaved the whole day, and that he actually did it, and had fun.

My dad and I built some new jumps last night, complete with two bars and the colorful tape to practice on, so I was pretty excited! He didn't even hesitate to go over them at home though. *rollseyes* I was going to get up and go again today and maybe enter one or two, but I slept in too late! Oh well.

    Thanks for looking!!
