i just bought 2 labs and they are both paperd akc but after i got my choclate and put it next to the yellow it looked so much differnt.im thinking it just might not be pur bread or i herd that chocolate is a smaller then the yellow and black.i dont know what to think please help

Dogs of the same breed can definatly look different to an extent --- it depends on what their parents looked like, and their genes in general. Unfortunatly with AKC, you can register a non-purebred dog as purebred because they only need a picture to register your dog. So it's entirely possible that your dog isn't purebred. But there's still a good chance it is. Do you have any pics?Originally posted by BRENDA

Labs can range from different sizes and weights; it all depends on the genes, not the colour.

I have been doing some reading on the akc and it is a felony to register a none purbreed dog so i think chanses of that may be slim but you never no. i do have some pic i will try to set them up.is there test you can get to see if your dog is pur breed?
BRENDA
So far, there are no tests to tell if your dog is purebred. You can do DNA tests to determine who your dog's parents are, but you can't use them to find out what breed he is. But you can try looking at pictures, and noting his personality, and maybe even talking to a lab breeder in the area or your vet.Originally posted by BRENDA

Where did you purchase your Labs? If you purchased from a good breeder, chances are, they're purebreds.
Both my boys are shelties but they're completely different. Actually, I can't say I'm 100% certain Kaedyn is a purebred as he's a rescue and we don't have info on his past but judging from his personality and physical appearance, I'm pretty sure he's purebred. My other one, Kai, is also purebred. This one I'm certain about as we visited his father, mother and littermates when we went to visit the breeder. Both are shelties but both look different. It just depends on the genes passed on to the offspring.

See the smilies? Look under those and it says options. Then look under those again and it says attach file. Go over to the right and press browse, then pic the picture you want to attach.Good luck.
