Now Gabe is sick! Much worse than Graemer!

Yes, Thanks AySee and Sara. I still can't believe he's gone. Gabe is just about all I've been able to think about lately.

I remember when we were first introduced to Gabe and Robyn explained the need to rehome him, for her son's sake and for Gabe's sake.

Just a mere day later SAS volunteered to pick him up and bring him to a no-kill shelter she volunteered at. Just over a month later, Gabe was home with SAS, and before you know it, SAS had decided that Gabe was not going to the shelter unless things didn't work out with her two "kids." Here's a quote from her the day after Gabe came home "I have four baby gates set up at Gabe's door....allowing viewing and touching....but no battles. The cats seems to like each other better than Gabe likes me. Go figure. I did all the work, and the kitties get the thanks from Gabe."

Graemer was such a sweetheart, and immediately welcomed Gabe and wanted to play. Here's the first picture SAS posted of Graemer trying to coax Gabe to come out and play.

Before long Graemer and Gabe were best buddies, but poor Miley girl wasn't having any of it. She eventually got over it, and I'm sure she loved Gabe too, maybe just not as much as Graemer did.

Not even a month later, this is the site we were greeted with:

From this point on, we here at PT knew Gabe had found his forever home with SAS, Graemer and Miley. They all welcomed him in and made their home his home. Then before you know it, Gabe was courting Edwina and flying all over the world to different crazy cat parties.

He charmed us with his New Joysey bad boy attitude, and stole all our hearts. And even though Edwina's head was turned by others, I know she loved him dearly. We will all miss him terribly, but know he is in a better place now, where he can breathe freely, with no pain or suffering. He brought so much joy to so many lives that he truly is an angel kitty.

Rest in Peace dear Gabe, rest in peace.....

What a special Kitty. For those of us who were not here at PT for very long, thank you to those who posted pictures and told stories of the REAL Gabe. How can one kitty bring so much joy to so many and such heartache upon departure? How? I think he was ALWAYS an angel and he just needed to go home.

OOh the picture with Graemer is so adorable. And it was the same at the end.
Poor Miley and Graemer! I am sure they miss him too.

Oh Popcornbird that link is soooooo beautiful. I am copying the poem. Thank you so much for posting that. It is truly awesome and has started the tears again. Anyone who has lost a pet will find it hard to read but at the same time beautiful. Truly the author has been in our shoes.

Tubby and Peanut's mom - you have done an awesome job of condensing Gabe's all too short life into a few paragraphs and pictures. Thank you for that also. The Bridge is a little more beautiful now that Gabe is there. He was a gorgeous little boy with those heavenly blue eyes and we will miss him so much.

Thank you again Pet Talk people for being the most wonderful people on the internet.

I know!

When sweet pepper passed on, I was looking for a sympathy card for KAK. This was the best one I found. It is VERY touching and it made me cry.

I saved it in my favorites so I can post it for all PT'ers that lost their beloved pets. Although it is very touching and causes the reader to become emotional, I thought it would also bring comfort, because it shows your pet thanking you for everything and that the pet will be waiting for you at the bridge.

Oh no, I'm crying again.

sas, so sorry it's taken me so long to get caught up on my Pettalk - how shocking and sad! I know you gave Gabe a wonderful home and sweet love, and bravery to say good bye. God bless you....so many sad losses recently, makes me want to hug my lil girl Ritz all the more.

I am just sobbing. I am so sorry that I had not even been into "cat health" in a long time and I missed the whole thread until just now. I don't know what to say other then I am absolutely sobbing. I am so, so sorry, Sallyanne, Robyn, Pam, Graemer & Miley. What a tremendous blow to the heart, and I feel so guilty for not reading about it sooner. Gabe was a very, very special boy. I was delighted by the whole rehoming story, and I could not believe how perfect everything went. It was truly meant to be. This was an incredible shock. Gabe was truly a very important part of PT, and he touched quite a few hearts with his tough exterior and soft, gentle interior. I, for one, will never forget him. He had a shorter life then expected, but it was long enough to touch a lot of hearts.

I am just so sorry. I am sorry for your loss, and I am so sorry for not reading this sooner. I honestly feel like I just lost one of my own.

Dearest Gabe, you will be missed sweety.
