Well, some good news and some bad news. The good news is, the ultrasound shows that Bassett doesn't appear to have any heart problems and has no tumours. It also wasn't as costly as I had thought, so that was a nice suprise. However, the vet may need to do more tests now. This is the bad news part - they don't know why Bassett has a leaky thoracic duct! I don't know if this means she will need exploratory surgery or what? I will have to make an appointment later this week, after the vet has looked over the results from the radiologist.

Anyway, it's comforting to know that Bassett has no heart trouble, and no tumours. But I still wish I knew what was wrong with her

I got Slick's card - it was so sweet and I feel so blessed. All the money people have donated to Bassett's cause is a true blessing. If there is any money left over after the vet is done with Bassett, I will donate it to a shelter or a adoption program for orphaned kittens.

Well, I must go for now. I have a kitty to cuddle Thank you all again - you are all amazing!

Good to hear Bassett has no heart trouble, and that it wasn't as costly as you thought.
I hope they can find out what the trouble is. We'll keep saying our prayers for her.
Give that kitty as little cuddle for me.

Naomi, I'm so glad that Bassett's heart is in good shape and that she has no tumors. I sure hope that the other test can tell you what the problem is. I'm also glad that it wasn't as expensive as you thought. I know how expensive things can get since I'm also going through this right now. All fingers and paws are still crossed and prayers are still on the way.

Warm hugs to you and to Bassett. Prayers will continue that they can determine the cause of her illness and treat it.

Good morning Naomi, I just wanted to say that I am very happy that Bassett doesn't have any tumours and his heart is fine. I am sure that takes a load off your mind. All of our fingers and paws are crossed that they will be able to find the origin of the problem.

2 great pieces of news....no tumors and no heart problems.....hip hip hooray... I am sorry that you still don't have the whole cause yet, but keep the faith. We are narrowing it down. I know that this is the frustrating part. So keep hugging that kitty for us too.

I hope the other news will be as good as these two.
And I also hope, that when you'll remember this, you'll be able to say - What a scare this was! So glad it's over.

I'm so glad to hear the good news. They may not know what the problem is yet, but they are certainly eliminating things - serious things - so that's always good news.

Is her thoracic duct still leaking? Maybe it was the one time injury thing that the vet asked about way back in the beginning.

Good luck with the rest of the tests and please give Bassett an extra hug from us.

Oh I'm sooo glad! The 3 of us have done nothing but think of you all night long.

I take it you are staying on the mainland for the week. I sent you my numbers in a PM and hopefully you still have them. Please do call if there is anything else I can do!

Prayers to you all and we are hoping for the best!

Fantastic! What a relief that Bassett doesn't have a heart problem or a tumour. I hope the white coats can find the cause of her problems soon and bring her back to 100% health. Give her a hug from all of us (so that's six hugs )
