You know how much I love that beautiful girl of yours, and how much happiness she bought not only to you, but many of us Pet Talkers in her time here. You did everything you could in the world to make Tango better and she thanks you for that. Tango was a wonderful dog and five years is very young, but she lived a wondeful and happy life with you.

She's gone.

The specialist said that even if he did the surgery, she'd never, ever be able to walk again. That's no life for her, and anybody who knew her or has met her would agree. He said there's a possibility that she had a tumor on her spinal cord (but wouldn't know unless he opened her up), or she had degenerative disc disease. He's 98% sure it was the latter, and either way, the outcome wouldn't have been good. When I saw her today, she had no feeling at all from about the base of her neck, down her back. It was awful.

I hope nobody thinks we should have tried harder. We did what we could, and putting her to sleep was our best option and the best decision for her. She wouldn't have been happy at all being stuck in a wheel chair for the remainder of her life - she just isn't that type of dog.

Awwww....Hun I am so sorry!!! You did what was best for sweet Tango!!! We know that you put her needs in front of your own. I have been in the same boat, and it was so difficult. Tango is running happily at the Rainbow Bridge!!
