Geez, it's like this poor girl just can't get a break! I hope that they can figure something out and let her recuperate so that she will feel well again. It's so hard when you feel like your hands are tied, and then waiting over a holiday is excruciating! I'll be keeping you and Nakita in my thoughts and prayers.

    Nakita, please eat something, sweetheart.

More test results came in and more stress.

She tested negative for Hemobartonellosis (good), her red blood cell level went up to 23% (good - but still anemic range), her fever is gone (or course, good )her blood protein is way up (not good) and the rest of the results show her to have chronic inflammation (not good).

The vet has sent one final test, to see if she has FIP. High protein levels and chronic inflammation are both indicators of possible FIP. We'll have the results tomorrow afternoon or Thursday morning.

She's stopped eating again. I've been seeing her lick her lips more the last couple of day so I bet her stomach is irritated and she doesn't want to eat. Force feeding is horrible and now she's hiding again. As you can tell, we're both miserable and just want to have an end to this.

So, I get to wait some more.....and patience is not one of my strengths, by any means.

If it IS FIP - and I pray it isn't - how could Nakita have possibly caught it?

    PRAYERS for your little girl.

If it isn't FIP - then what?

Please hug that little girl for me.

Would even some stinky canned salmon tempt her? Cat milk? As it is easy to digest?

I'm as confused as I can be right now about the FIP. And I'm not sure why they are testing since FIP tests are inconclusive, with false negatives/positives. Someone, correct me if I'm wrong since I just quickly looked that up. I'll talk to the vet once the results are in to see why they are testing. Rob talked to her earlier, so I only have second hand info right now.

Nakita *hates* anything with fish in it. The only food she loves are the chicken treats by Old Mother Hubbard. And guess what? They discontinued them and I'm on the last pack right now.

I'll pass on the hugs....she's so small though I have to really be careful.

Again, would she take the cat milk? Supposed to be easy for cats to digest...though who knows if she would like it...
