Prayers are going up for God to watch over Toby and the doctor taking care of him.

    He made it through surgery

They've removed part of his intestine, apparently it was very swollen and infected. He may still need a blood transfusion, but at the moment he's stable, so that's good! All they can do now is wait and see if he improves ...

Thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers

Hopefully removing the infected intestine will make him feel better. I can imagine how that could make him so sick. Was there a blockage or anything that caused the infection, Amy? I'm always worried about blockages with Chester, since he's such an aggressive chewer.

Continued prayers & thoughts for the Tob-meister!

    How's his BP?

Oh and Toby, I've had part of my intestine removed, too. No biggie!

Nope, they didn't find a blockage, but it was really raw and infected, so I imagine something could have been stuck there at some point. BP is still slightly up but he's stable so he's doing a LOT better than yesterday.

Oh God, I just got back from lunch and had to log on to see if there was any news. I'm so glad that Toby is doing better. Still more prayers on the way.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
