For the people who are having problems with the ads, I use this link:

    http://www.wavelit.com/popup/playerAfricam.asp#

which takes you straight into the Africam.

I keep wondering if there is someone operating the cam at times or if there is something automatic about it. Sometimes it's suddenly focused on things like paper trash by the waterhole, or the fallen log. Other times it will be focused on a large group of impala and suddenly swing back to the empty waterhole and stay still - as though someone decided it was time for tea. I've gone in during the night time and found it focused on the larger picture of the waterhole most of the time and then it's on a small corner of it.

Whoever saw animals at night was very lucky, I've never seen anything. I guess I shouldn't have given up trying at that time of day.

Katie - you saw a peacock? I thought they were from India? Does the park have non-indigenous wildlife?

It's going to be interesting watching the seasons change there, or do things change very much? It's late summer there now. Do they have a rainy season?

Oh Kimmy.... I'm so glad you said that because that was the first thing I thought of too.
They had the neck like a Hyena!
    They had to be!
    OH they were so cute!
Some were playing in the water, others were running around playing outside the water.
Oh I want to see them again!!!

They are following some sort of bird right now. Tyler keeps pointing at it and saying "GRAY BIRDIE!"

Now I know why I don't see very much; most of the animals appear about 2-4am my time. I"m home sick and was up at that time last night. It was strange seeing vultures walking around among the impala, knowing that they walking past possibly one of their next meals. Fortunately, the impala don't think that way. There were a number of giraffes. I almost felt their pain as they straddled and bent their legs to drink water, and you could hear the sound of them drinking very clearly. One of them seems to have lost the tassel on the end of the tail, or do some of them not have one? Is it a male/female or young/old kind of feature? Then the baboons came racing through from the trees, leaping over the grazing impalas at times and then making a tight group to drink water.

All the animals I've seen are on constant alert, the giraffe especially before they bend to drink which makes them extremely vulnerable. I wonder if any of us are going to see a lion attack.

I am glad so many of you are enjoying this. Being so busy with work lately, I haven't had time to watch that often. Nothing's happening by the time I go to sleep and I don't have time to watch in the morning. So, by the time I get home from work it's night time there and actionless!

Neat! I got to see the elephant eating in front of the building/house. I could see people sitting in chairs on the deck watching him. Then it got noisey and the camera moved to the water where a monkey with her two babies were drinking. Some gazelles or whatever they are came close and the monkey got upset and loud. That is most I've ever seen there. Now it's frozen and not streaming well.

Thanks for sharing those photos! I need to remember to pop it on in the morning. I keep missing some of the animals.

The webcam is stationary, but this morning there was an operator who moved the camera and panned the entire area. When he comes across something special he will zoom in and focus on that animal. I know someone is manning it at all different times of the day.

This morning I could hardly stop watching to get to work. There was an elephant - very close to the lodge grazing - several giraffe - a herd of, I believe, gazelle, a monkey with two young that were just razing the devil running around.

I have found the very best times to see things is their time early in the morning or early evening. They are nine hours ahead of California time.

The grizzly cam is fun too.

Lizzie, it sure looked like a Peacock. It had the huge pretty tail, but then again, I am not that good at picking birds out

    Thank you so much Michelle!
