I don't think it works on firefox.the hearts (new ones, not html) all look like this to me: |
1 girl, 1 pup, 2 guinea piggies, 1 bunny & 1 turtle!
Ok, so maybe I am dumb... do I hod the alt key down, then press the plus sign, and the 3 at the same time? Or do I not use the plus sign? What key am I pressing when?
I cannot for the life of me make a heart!
Yes, it does. I'm using FireFox and I can view them with no problem. Go to view>character encoding and try putting it on "western" to see if that works (that's what mine is on and allows me to see them).Originally Posted by wolfie
Hold down the ALT button while you hit the number 3 on the NUM pad, not on the number bar above the letters on the keyboard.Originally Posted by catnapper
We just say ALT+3 because it means "the ALT key AND the number 3" hehe
I tried this last night and all I got was a question mark.I tried pressing the Alt key and the 3 on the num lock far right side of my key board. I also then tried it using the plain old 3 and then I tried it using the plus sign in between. Nothing is working.

Oh whew! I'm just seeing this thread for the first time and all I was seeing was ♥ and I'm thinking " .... why am I the only one not seeing any hearts ???" LOL Now it's my turn to try! I'm on a laptop so I don't have the numeric keypad, so I don't know if this will work the same.
Nope ! It doesn't work with a laptop.. Anybody know?
If you're just seeing question marks, then your character encoding in your browser probably doesn't support these characters. Refer to my post above where I explain how to do it on Firefox, I believe hte process is similar with IE as wellOriginally Posted by krazyaboutkatz
No, you can't do it on a laptop, unfortunately, because you don't have a numpad.Originally Posted by MommyOf3cats
BUT you can try copying and pasting a heart from someone else's post though! Maybe that will work?
Copy and pasting here ...

It works !!Now why didn't I think of that sooner
