I think she is Maine Coon.
First of all, princessofjade, welcome to Pet talk! My name is david p from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I hope you post alot more!! Kitana looks to me like a tortoiseshell kitty(lots of little spots of brown, tan, and a litle white). I have two cats, Nikki, a tuxedo kitty, 4 years old, and Daisy, a 1 year old tortoiseshell. Which is why I think Kitana is a tortoiseshell kitty.

Kitana looks like a beautiful little tortie; definitely not a Maine Coon - way too small and short furred to be one of those. See my Mishi in our album.

    Thanks David P and RedHedd.

I never heard of tortoiseshell breed before. My vet just said she's an American Long Hair and I searched online but there isn't American Long Hair but there is Maine Coon so that's how I thought of her. Oops! I need to find more about Kitana then.

She has lots of fur maybe this picture was taken when she was little. This is how she looks now. However, she has scar from her ringworm and more than one inch of her tail fur is not growing back yet.

    Mixed Breed

I have a mixed breed, but why does it mater? Isn't it what's on the inside and in the heart that counts the most? Isn't it the love and companionship of a cat that is the most important of all?

    it doesn't matter

mmmmichael, first of all, WELCOME TO PET TALK!! I'm david p from Pittsburgh. I have two cats, Nikki, a 3year old tuxedo, and Daisy, a 14 month old tortoiseshell. mmmmichael, it doesn't matter at all if your kitty is a purebreed or mixed. What counts is that your kitty is your friend and that that you love your kitty to death. A lot of people on PT have mixed breeds, so I hope you post often and you probably become addicted to this site!! BTW, Where do you live?

But it doesn't matter purebred or mixed. I believe there are more MIXED kitties on PT then Purebred. Purebreds are just as loved as Mixed and Vice versa!!!
We love all kitties!! This poll was just out of curiosity. Did you notice it is over a year old?
How about some pics of YOUR kitties?

    Hi Princessofjade,

I think your kitty is probably a mixed breed, like many of us at "Pet Talk" have. I too have a lovely long haired kitty and I like to think he is part Maine Coon but I don't really know what he is, what I do know is he beautiful and I love him. As for your kitty, he is also very lovely and I hope you love your fluffy little fur ball as much as i love mine.

    Thanks for the welcome.

OK. I see. I love all cats, too. Pictures of my cats are attached.

No offense, but I like to keep my address private, instead of broadcasting it on the world-wide-web. Sorry.

I agree with all of you that whatever breed is your cat as long as you love your kitty and your kitty love you, that's what matter most.
I hate the fact that many people in this country, Saudi Arabia, are so marrow-minded. They hate all cats that is not pure white or not mix with Persian.
Anyway, I think my colorful Kitana is the cutest and I love her. Actually, I love all cats.

Kitana looks so pretty. She is what I would call a tortie - short for tortoise shell, and I really adore the colour mix. Its so pretty. I'm not sure if its true but I heard that torties are are only female. Does anyone know if that is right or not? I'm curious to know, and so far I have only every known female torties but of course that may well be a coincidence.

I live in Australia and have a tabby DSH, a silver Abyssinian and a blue point Ragdoll. I adore just my fur-babies so much. My Tabby used to be a nervous fraidy cat but he is getting better as time goes on with lots of TLC. My Abby is just the greatest all round cat - and he is round as he loves his food, and anyone elses ..and my ragdoll is my baby-girl at 4.5 months. She is soooooo sooffftttt

Kitiana is a tortie. I am david p from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania! Welcome to Pet Talk. I hope you will stay around and post often,Sky. I have a tuxedo kitty,Nikki, and a tortie kitty, Daisy. In answer to your question, it is the calico cats that are all female, torties can be male or female. Hope that clears it up for you Sky!!

Hi David. Many thanks for the warm welcome. I could not find a 'new members' area on this forum. so I posted here. In Australia I don't think we have calico cats....or if we do we don't call them by that name. So when I heard about them, I wrongly assumed that they were the same as tortoiseshells. Now at least I know they are not the same.

    calico cats

Hi, again, Sky. Calico cats are usually white with patches of brown, tan, and black all over. Hopefully from my description you will know what a calico cat is. Good luck, Sky.

Pep is an orange/white Maine Coon,
    Vivi is a DSH "tuxedo"
Sasha Marie is a Grey/white DSH obtained from a used car lot.
