Sending more good wishes to Killian this morning for continued improvement! No news from Sue overnight, so I'm taking that as a good sign! {{{hugs}} to Killi and Sue!

    Killi update:

Yesterday, Killian had a bit more energy. He went in the yard and walked around slowly. He ate a little more for me than the day before! Last night he slept all night and I shared the familyroom couch with Shiloh! And ....hehehe.....he still falls for the old pills in braunschweiger trick. Right now he is waiting for breakfast because he started his pill regimen for the day with SAMe (denosyl) and has to wait an hour before he can have more pills and breakfast. His eyes are droopy and mucusy but maybe the lactulose and prednisone will help later, when he can take those, I hope.

Thanks for the prayers and concern.
    Hugs to all.

I cautiously think that Killian will recover from this major episode (slowly). This past episode was worse than all the rest (except for the Metronidazole incident). It has all the signs of worsening liver disease. He has never suffered Hepatic Encephalopathy before and I thought he never would. One more symptom that he can suffer would be seizures (not necessarily going to happen). However, I have warned the kids that it can happen, to be prepared. I was truly shocked at this severe episode. He was doing better than ever these last few months. I have no clue what could have contributed to this. Ahhhhhhhh, unless the rabies shot last week??? "Other vet" said no. I wonder what Dr. Ball says. Hmmmmm, I wonder..........

End note. Hug and love your furbabies every single chance that you get ( I never pass them without a pat on their heads or an eye contact and wave). You never know when that will be the last chance you get. I am trying to cope with the worsening of Killian's liver disease. I thought we could win the battle forever (not realistic, am I). But ,as everyone tells me, back in "96 when he was pulled off death row at 69 lbs. with autoimmune disease (that's probably when that showed up, but was underlying ) and a big rashy mess, he would have been pts. What a shame that would have been. The world is a better place with Killian in it.

Wow! Where did this come from? Sorry. OK, I'm glad I got that off my chest. He is getting better and should be with us a while longer.

    Love and hugs to all.

When I first joined PetTalk and started reading your posts about your beloved Killian, my Peach was starting into her declining months. I took your advice then to never pass her by without a pet and a kind word.

Now that she is gone, I feel at peace that she knew she was loved and wanted every day we were blessed to have her. When she was at her sickest and had to be helped outside to go potty, she always looked so apologetic that we would have to help her. We told her that it was OK, that we loved her, and that we couldn't not do this small favor after all she had done for us.

Your Killian is blessed to have someone like you to care for him! There is no greater gift that you can give him than what you are doing for him right now. Take care.

How right you are, Sue. I do the same. Sometimes I get tears in my eyes looking at Carina and wondering how much longer she'll be with me.
I hope dear Killian will get over this last episode and continue to enjoy your love in good health for a long time.
    Hugs to you both.

Wow! Where did this come from?
Sue asks "Wow! Where did this come from?'

That's pretty easy to answer, Sue...

    That came from Your HEART!

Checking in to see how Killi is doing and I'm glad to know he is doing better.
You are absolutely right I never take Perry and Daisy for granted,
there is not a time I don't go by them and kiss them and tell them how much I love them, I don't want to waste one precious minute with them.
Hugs to Killi and Shiloh too

Sue, your post made me cry.
I never ever take mine for granted--they always get a pat, kiss, hello, or tummy rub--it's amazing--when I am running late for work, I'll skip breakfast or not put on make up or something, but NEVER will I leave without 3 sloppy kisses and hugs!!!

I'm glad to hear that Killi is getting stronger--he is so amazing!!!!

    My dear friend Sue, Phred took the words right out of my mouth..."it came from the heart." Like you, I never miss a chance to give them a hug, a pat on the head, a big, slopppy kiss and tell them I love them. Even as I walk out the door, I always turn to tell them, "I love you guys." Yes, the world IS a better place with Killian in it. And we are better people for having known him.....and YOU! Killian is so blessed to have you as his Mom. Killian, you do your Mama proud. {{{HUGS}}}

Oh Sue I completely agree!! I left for work on February 1, 1996 and said Goodbye to my Ashley and Whitney as always. When I came home that night Whitney was dead! The vet felt it was a heart attack. I always told them jokingly to "guard the house." LOL! I wish I knew if Whitney really knew what I was saying that morning and the love I felt for her. I do believe they understand us more than we know.

I have been out of town for the week and the first post I looked at when I came back this evening was to find out how Killian is doing!!!

I am so glad to hear he is feeling better - I am hoping and wishing him a complete recovery and many more happy years with you!

    Good morning Sue & Killian.

You two were the first thing on my mind this morning when I woke up, just wondering how Killian is feeling this morning
