I still think that you did the right thing by bringing her inside. Hopefully she'll get over this soon and I agree that she may need to see a vet. If she can't smell her food then she won't want to eat. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

I am sad to say that I have made a appt for Baby Kitty to be PTS
tomorrow. I had the appt set for today, but I couldn't do it and
cancelled it at the last minute. Although the URI seemed to be getting
better for awhile, she still will not or cannot eat any food and yesterday
and today, could not even drink any water.

I thought I was doing the right thing for Baby by bringing her inside, but
now I'm not so sure. She was perfectly healthy before & only became sick
after she came inside. I feel so sick at heart right now. I only wanted the
very best for Baby Kitty & I hate that she is so very sick. I have failed her.
I only hope when she gets to the RB, she will understand that I love her
and only wanted to make her life better, not worse.

    I am so sorry.

Thank you for giving her so much love.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Liz. I had lost track of this thread and had no idea that she was sick. Please don't blame yourself - this probably would have happened if she had been outside anyway. At least you are giving her the gift of love and a peaceful passing - so much more than she would get if left outside and on her own.

God speed to RB Baby Kitty , and peace to you, Liz.

Liz, I am so sorry and sad to hear this...I am praying for a last-minute miracle, of course.

If this can't happen, I pray for peace for both of you. She knew love...and will join her Mama who is waiting at the Bridge.

And free yourself from guilt - many kitties have been rescued and made indoor cats with no problem, and you did the right thing. I suspect she may have had a bug already, and it caught up with her indoors.

Sorry I haven't posted sooner but I've been having my own health
problems. Problems with my BP have really slowed me down.

Baby Kitty is still here and does seem to be gaining strenth. She started
to drink water on the evening of my last post. She's drinking more & more
every day now & it seems to have given her back a little strength. I went
to check on her this morning and she had left the cabinet she has been
staying in since she got so sick. She used a litter box in the next room.
The fact that she could move at all, has given me hope again that maybe
she isn't quite ready to give up yet.

She didn't show herself at suppertime, but I plan to bring down some
sardine treats later this evening to try to draw her out of hiding.

I wanted to thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers for BK.

More prayers for Baby Kitty...hopefully just a little more time will allow her system to strengthen.

Prayers for your health too, that you feel better soon!

Well now Liz - this is a pleasant surprise. So glad to read that BK is showing some signs of improvement. Prayers that she will continue and be able to stay with you for a long time to come.

And you - take care of yourself - ya hear??? Who is going to take care of those fur kids if you get sick???

{{{Hugs}}} to you and skritches to the furry ones.
