    Oh Happie Daze!!

    Just a thought~
Has anyone considered using UltraSound to explore Dixie's foot and pads?

If the object is wooden or a thorn - it won't show up on a normal X-ray. Ultrasound might detect where it is...

Plug "splinter" and "Ultrasound" into a search engine ( www.google.com ) and start reading. One I found was:

    Article from Israel...

    Another ended with:

CONCLUSION: UltraSound can be used effectively to locate wooden foreign bodies as small as 2.5 mm in length. Given that many foreign bodies are radiographically undetectable, the accuracy and availability of UltraSound make it an excellent modality for evaluation of radiolucent foreign bodies."

    GREAT NEWS !!!!

I just now saw that the results came back on Dixie's
paw. You must be so relieved. That's wonderful news.
I agree about maybe using the ultrasound method to
possibly locate the object, whatever it turns out to be.
It's good to know the swelling's down & she feels better.
