Scrubs never looked so good until now.

I am going to request a very special sponge bath today.

This "Get Well Soon" thread could soon turn into an X-Rated Thriller!!

Wonder if Dr. Joel travels with a Nurse / Body Guard escort?

Bet Dr. J had to use COLD WATER for that sponge bath!

    Clean bill of health

The appointment went really well today....I even drove myself there. The doc removed my stitches and boy did that ever feel better. The pathology results came back for the tiny nodule that was removed along with the original one. It confirms that it, too, is carcinoid so it is assumed that the other tiny ones are carcinoid as well. However there is good news in that he is not going to do anything about the remaining two because they are so tiny and will not cause any immediate danger. Again, he reassured me that "you will not die from this."

I told him about the increasing pain and he explained it like this. When you hit your "funny bone" you can feel tingling in the end of your fingers. During the surgery some nerves were manipulated and right now they are all talking to each other and trying to get back into order and that's what's causing all the pain. It is a common complaint among women who have this type of surgery. Pardon the explanation but it feels like my right breast is on fire. Along with Tylenol 3, I'm taking 200 mg of Garbapentin 3 times a day and he said that we can increase that by double or triple. So I'm trying that and if it doesn't work we will try another medication.

I have booked an appointment with him in 3 months time and follow up only means that I will need a full CT scan once a year.

Since I was only about 5 blocks from work, I stopped in there to say hello and a bunch of us went for Dim Sum. MMMMMMM, I could eat that stuff every day.

So, really this is very good news. The recovery will long and slow but I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to get back to normal again. Today is the first day that I have not taken a nap and I'm feeling OK. Must be the good news......

Probably won't be updating this thread much longer....only if there are major changes. Other than that, I just eat, and sleep, and cuddle Max all day long. The more I cuddle Max, the more he wants. There may be a couple of job openings up here for Max cuddlers....anyone want to apply???
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Thanks for the update, glad the appointment went well, and there's a reason - and a solution - for the pain. No nap? You must feel sooooo grown up!

Slick, I'm happy to hear of your progress and prognosis. I hope the pain does subside, though. Must be very frustrating not to be able to do anything about it. Glad you're getting lots of cuddling time in with Max. That's always a good thing.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

Driving the car, going to the Dr.'s office, out to lunch with the girls...........
    WAY TO GO!

I would sure take him up on the increased dosage of pain meds.........but now that the stitches are out - that is one more step away from discomfort!

Dear friend, it is so good to hear this news - all of it!

Give that snuggle buggle and big smacker on his nose. He is doing such a great job.

Hope you have a good night's sleep too!

    xxoo me
