Oh Slick, it's SO good to know you're back home, and see you post here! Glad you got some sleep, but sorry you woke up in pain. Hopefully, it will be less every day!

LOL! Max being velcro ... yes, I bet he is! He won't leave you alone for a while. I'm curious, was Max trying to wash off the hospital odour of you?

Go for your short walks and eat your yummy food!

I will look forward to hear more!

    ((((hugs))))

How wonderful to hear from you personally, Slick! Not that I didn't appreciate Gini's uppydates (thanks SO much, Gini!), but hearing from you personally means you're not only home, but feeling well enough to get on the computer. Guess you must have been released in the morning because you were on PT before the end of that day - was I right or was I right?

Sorry for being so absent on this thread. While on vacation last week, we were in a location that had basically NO cell service, and internet service was intermittent at best. Geeze, talk about withdrawals!

But now we're back and I'm ready to cheer you on. Hope your walk went well and the pain subsides a little more each day.

    very gentle {{{hugs}}}

Aww, that's not fair, making the patient make a tough decision like that while on pain meds AND brandy!

So glad to hear from you Slick, and to know that you are home and resting well with your very own velcro kitty!

    I do have one question:

When is Dr. Joel making his first housecall?????

Sept 14th..Hi Gini, I just spoke to Vicki!!

I don't remember speaking to Betty the night of the sir-jury.
Sept 15th..SLICK CALLED HER THIS MORNING!! She said she couldn't talk long because they had her up and walking. She said "CALL GINI AND TELL HER!"
Don't remember this phone call either.
Hi everyone, Friday 9/15 - almost 9 PM. I had a call this evening from Slick's friend and she was able to talk very briefly to Slick and also to Slick's Mom.
    I spoke to who??? When???
By Laurie Sept 16th..I just got off the phone with Slick (she was loaned a phone to take the call, won't have one for awhile). She sounds wonderful (if a bit buzzed ) but was so happy to hear about Kiki Kay, and asked me to send a round of drinks to Thursdays. She was very tired so we only spoke for a bit.
Sorry Sis, when did you call???? I truly don't remember....
By Gini Sept 16th..I just got off of the phone after talking to Slick as well and she sounds amazing. Today she walked up the hall about half way with her physiotherapist and YES she had her fuzzy cat slippers on.
OK, now you are just trying to mess with my mind, right? What conversation did we have???
By Naomi, Sept 17th..I'm home! When I arrived she was sitting up in bed and her friend Betty was there. She looks pale, and is in a LOT of pain.
Nomi: Please forgive me because I barely remember you being there. It must have been the drugs...yeah, yeah, that's it....it was the drugs. I remember seeing Dr. Pete and the clothes but it's all a blurr after that. I had to ask my Mom days later who had Dr. Pete.
By Gini Sept 18th..I just got off of the phone after talking to Slick. She cut the phone call short because she had to go pee.............
Don't remember a thing about this.

So folks, as you can tell, the first few days are a total washout as far as my memory goes. I truly don't remember any of these conversations....sure hope I didn't say anything nasty.

I've been very tired and very short-winded today. Went for a 15 min slow walk this morning and again around 5pm. These pain meds work great but they make me very, very sleepy and I did manage to have a few hours nap with Max this afternoon. That dear boy just won't leave my side for a minute. More tomorrow about Dr. Joel ....time for zzzzzz's now.

    Love ya.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
