I followed this thread from the beginning, but I was so sad about it that I couldn't write anything.
I hope the vet will find the right treatment for her and you, with us, will have her for many years.

Oh, poor Bassett! I hope and pray that the vet will be able to help her. If she's eating that's a good sign.

yes, Naomi, all of us are following Bassett's progress and storming the heavens with prayers - for you both. I know how worried you are - these little babies sure take over our hearts.

Try to take care of yourself while all of this is going on.......can't have you sick too!

    Naomi -

You will be in my thoughts all day as we await test results. I may have to leave for work before you give the update but I want you to know that I'm here for you if you need anything at all. I feel so helpless and far away but I'll do anything in my power.

Stay strong. I know this is really hard. We're all praying for the best test results possible. I'll try to catch you on icq later today.

Bassett was able to come tonight. The vet says that Bassett is feline leuk/FIV clear, so the problem is either a tumour that isn't throwing off cells, her heart is severely damaged, or she has a ruptured thorasic duct. All her treatments so far have cost me $420 and we aren't done yet. I still have to have her ultrasound done. There is a clinic in Burnaby, BC that I can take her to, but it's VERY expensive. I will call them tomorrow to see what their prices are like, but the vet said that it could be around $1500 for everything they have to do I just want Bassett to be well, and so I'll find the money. Just after having the fluid removed, her breathing is drastically improved. She seems much more at ease. That in itself is a comfort, but I just want her to be ok.

Thank you all for the prayers. Please keep them coming - we aren't out of the woods yet.

I logged on tonight and didn't see a reply, and was hoping that it didn't mean bad news. Thank you for the update. It's such a relief to know that Bassett is still with you and there is hope. We will keep you in our thoughts.

I am glad Bassett is home. I am sure that makes you both feel a little better. Prayers are still coming for all that lies ahead.
