Yeah I remember them, they were a little bigger than the Austin Healey Sprite with the MG body. Never drove one, but seen a few of them on the road.
One of my favourites was the Subaru Vortex, I had one of those for about 8 years, bought it in 1999, and sold it only a few years ago now. I loved that car, so smooth to drive, and the turbo was unreal.....really made them move along. And the air suspension....pure magic.

If I could choose two cars, it would be a Range Rover and an Austin Healey. I quite like the Mini Cooper too.

My present car is a 2002 Audi A4 Avant. I love this car because it handles like a sports car and is great to drive in bad weather because of the all wheel drive.
Mine is just like this one except the wheels. I like my wheels better. Koko likes it because when we are in the PARK she can ride with her head out the sun rool

My next car will probably be another Audi. i am leaning toward an A3 TDI。I had a VW Jetta TDI that I really liked so an AUDI TDI will be even better.

Kokopup, I like your present car better than the "next" one. Audi's are good solid cars!

That's the reason why the Vortex was so good to drive, it was AWD to.
Never leaned much towards the Audi's.....don't know why, maybe it's the body shapes that they come out with that puts me off. We all have our favourites tho. The new Holden Calais, and the Holden Statesman are good cars, if I get another newy soon, it'll probably be one of those.

But at the moment we are sticking to what we have, as it only takes 10 minutes in any direction to reach the boundaries of the city I live in. (No such thing as peak hour traffic here). The wife has a new Hyundai, the daughter a Ford hatchback, and I still drive my Ford utility...three vehicles in this place is overkill....LOLOL.

I have owned more cars than I can count and sold or traded them all without hesitation. I am so attached to this car I think I will keep it even if I buy an A3. My wife has a new Mazda6 Sportwagan and my 8 year old Audi is more solid an runs better than her new car. When I close my doors all you hear is a solid thump. When I close her doors I always feel like it didn't close all the way. When it is bad weather her car is all over the road and my Audi is straight arrow and solid. There is no comparing the two cars.

We have the Largest most automated Hyundai plant in the world just down the road from here. I'm not sure what they make there. They just announced a plant expansion to set up a new model. The Holden is imported to the US and rebadged as a Pontiac G8. Since Pontiac was Killed by GM the Holden will be imported for Police duty only. I'm not sure what they will call it.

I love German cars...most euro cars are nice really. I haven't been impressed with US super car offerings such as the Viper or Ford GT (the GT is way better than the Viper handling wise IMO) but they are nowhere near the handling level of euro super cars.

Did that model have the turbo icon on the dash?

Your car called the Vortex in Australia and NZ was the XT for the opposed 4 and the XT6 for the Opposed 6. Both cars were turbocharged. Nice symmetrical AWD system. It is different in the Audi & VW since Symmetrical is mostly Mechanical in nature while the Audi AWD system has 7 computers controlling the system. There is something to be said for simplicity since I messed mine up once by removing the cover from my cabin filter and not replacing properly. It had a heavy rain and the lose cabin filter cover allowed water to flood my floorboard. Guess where one of my computers was. Right under my passenger floor carpet. I was able to find one on ebay for $200 other wise $1400 from dealer.
It was in limp mode so I just had to wait until the new unit came.

Yep, that's the one. And once that light was on, man they really scooted along.

Subaru never actually made many of the Vortex, so they are a pretty rare car here. I read that it was Subaru's first go at a sports coupe, so they put everything into them. They had every feature inbuilt into them.
AND, what may interest you, was the inside dashboard and controls...evidently Subura at the time were making aeroplanes, and the dash of the Vortex was very similar to look at, and built along those lines.
But I loved that car to bits. I wish now I never sold it.

I am not fond of the 'rounded' style car bodies, but this car revs my engine.

How about an Audi R8 Spyder It has a V10 525 HP Lamborghini powerplant

Audi owns Lamborghini so the Lamb engine is really an Audi (GERMAN) engine.

You might like the All Carbon fiber R8 Razor GTR with the 525 HP (Both CARS ARE ALL WHEEL DRIVE)
