    Think of a Famous Dog.

I thought it might be a little fun to recall the name of a famous dog that appeared in either a movie, on television, in the news, etc.

If you are interested in participating, play along.

I will mention one, ( out of many famous dogs) to start with

Asta: from "The Thin Man" , with William Powell and Myrna Loy

Ditto on "The Beverly Hillbillies" I often play the theme song from that show on my guitar. I imitated Granny when I was a sixth grader, , now when I look in the mirror with my hair pulled back, I see Irene Ryan laughing back at me.

Welllll Doggies. Gotta love Buddy Ebsen, (notice I spelled his name correctly) I back spaced just a little.

    Oh, that Duke!!!!!

Finally, someone gave me the name fo that Dog on the television show, Topper. Neil!!!

I did look up information about Asta, and I read some interesting facts about him.

He played the dog in the Movie version of Topper. I think Cary Grant was in the movie.

I really can't remember much about Topper on TV, I knew there was a dog on the show, and that 2 ghosts were on the show. I was too little to understand it , my 3 older sisters had headaches trying to explain it to me.

What about that cute little dog in the movie As Good As It Gets with Jack Nickolson.
Verdell, was his name. Anyone know what breed he was?
