I'm sorry to hear about the pain but I guess it's to be expected. That Dr. Pete sure is cute! Maybe she'll feel better when she gets in her private room. Duke sends kisses and paw shakes to her.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

I will be praying that if we all concentrate hard enough to lift just a little of her pain unto ourselves that she will soon be feeling much better.

Slick did say the lights were always on and it is noisy there...once she gets a private room and gets some really good sleep, I am sure it will help a lot!

Jen, I am going to do the pain-lifting idea too.

    Thanks for that thought.

I'm sad to hear that she is in so much pain. I hope the pain will at least decrease some soon.

Those gifts were great Naomi. I'm glad you were able to visit with her in person.

    Get feeling better Slick!

It's not a typical patient room as there is what looks like a mini nurses station right in there with her. She said it's very noisy at night and the lights are always on, so she's having lots of trouble sleeping.

Being a Canadian myself, the room that Slick is in sounds like the Intensive Care Unit. This is where patients who have had major surgery stay for a few days for close monitering. Hopefully she will be in her private room within the next few days.

Don't be afraid to use your call button Slick, that's what it's there for.

I pray that the terrible pain that you are in Slick will become bearable very soon and then lessen with each day that passes.

Okay, here goes. Drawing in a deep breath to lift part of your pain into me.
OHHHHH ouch, I think I took a little too much, blowing some of it back for someone else to lift from you.

Take care Slick. Prayers still on the way that you have a full and speedy recovery.

Bless your heart, my dear friend - I wish it was possible for all of us to lift your pain away completely.

But surely all of the outpouring of love for you will help.

I pray that they monitor you carefully tonight and that you can hopefully get a good nights sleep.

It sounds like a torture room - not an INTENSIVE care room. This news is hurting us all for you.

Soon you will be in your private room and can get the good rest you need snuggled in with your new furry friend.

Naomi - thank you so much for all that you are doing - we all realize that you work and it just isn't easy to get from one side of town to the other to visit Slick during the visiting hours. Thank you for posting too.

    Slick,
I am so sorry. I have heard often that it is the nurses, not the docs who don't administer enough pain meds. Nobody should have to be in pain after surgery these days.
I have made that experience myself. My co-workers brought me a Steiff kitty to the hospital (although not as medically experienced as Dr. Pete Feline) and I was 42 years old, lying in bed, not being able to sleep because of pain and I hugged my kitty So I hope Dr. Pete is back soon and hugs you- as we cannot come and do that.

It breaks my heart to hear Slick is in so much pain. I really hope the nurses will keep a close eye on her and give her what she needs! Hopefully, she'll also be moved to her private room soon.

Naomi, thanks so much for visiting and bringing Dr. Pete and his gear along, he is so cute! I'm sure Slick will cuddle with him, as soon as she's better. I hope she will feel all the hugs coming from us though Dr. Pete.

Away from the computer for a few days and just catching up. I'm near tears hearing that you're in such pain Slick. If need be I can come kick some nurse butt to ensure they're looking after you better. Once you're in your own room and able to sleep the healing will speed up considerably and the pain won't be so bad. I hope you've heard some bells and know that Trouble and I are keeping vigil for you. Please feel better soon.
