This is just a short update on my "outdoor" kitties.
Sugar, the last cat to be added to Momma Kitty's group
is doing just fine. He gained tons of weight & has blended
in with Momma & Baby kitty. No problems at all. However
for the last several days I've been noticing a new cat hanging
around with the gang.He/she stays just on the fringes & won't
get to close. I saw Momma check him/her out & she seems
to not be upset with this cat. It's a beautiful long haired orange
kitten, maybe 4-5 months old. I would love to catch him. I
am supposing it's a him & that's why Momma is not upset
having him around. He is very afraid of humans, so it'll take
some doing to trap him, but I'm going to try. His fur still looks
clean and he's so pretty, just like my indoor cat Redbud.
    Wish me luck. Liz.

My first time reading this thread

Lizbud, this is my first time being exposed to this thread. I can't figure out why I have not seen it before now.

You have a heart of gold. I am just so glad there are not any more stray cats in my neighborhood. I would have them all living at my house, for sure.

You will go to heaven for sure, being so kind to these orphans.

cataholic, very funny!! you must be seeing this in your dreams, if I should dream it , it would be a nightmare! there will be absolutley no more cats in this house! no way, never. never, never! you can mark my words! I lost my mind for a while when I brought the last 2 home, and almost didn't keep them. I am not going to repeat the mistake. not that adopting cats is a mistake, but I had my hands full with 5. but I love them all and things are settling down .

well I hope you have a good place to keep this post, where you won't lose it...because you are going to have to hang on to it for one VERY LONG time!! I am in no way, ever going to get any more cats, not as long as I have these cats. so, there! haha!

actually, I will only have 6 cats one of these days, soon. I am moving and giving callie to my mother. she is already HER cat anyway. she loves her and wants her. we are moving, and not going to share a house anymore. we will live close, but not together. after my father died, I moved in with her... now it is time for my own place, and I will miss her but I am looking forward to my own house!

    Hey Guys,

Sure hope I haven't jinxed everything by posting about
the new kitty, but I have not seen him for the last 2 or 3
days. I know where he came from down the alley about
4 or 5 houses away from me , so I keep an eye out for him/
    her.

    TC,
Congrats on your upcoming move to your own place.
Hope everything goes smooth for you & the kitties.

Just a short update on the orange kitty stranger.

I saw him (I'm sure it's a male b/c he was stalking baby
kitty the very next day after I posted last) . He was across
the street wandering through the bushes. Checking out new
territory I think. There's no way I'll be able to lure him with
Sugar living here. Although Sugar's neutered ,he has chased
away all the neighborhood toms & has probably discouraged
this guy from hanging around also. There used to be a lot
of strays in my neighborhood, which accounts for my having
seven cats ) I hardly see any nowadays. I'll be sure to
keep an eye out for him.It justs hurts your heart to know
that there are so many homeless cats out there & winter
is coming fast. Maybe he'll come back this way again, I did
find Sugar last winter hanging around my porch.Let's hope.

I have not seen the orange boy at all lately. He looked
quite fit when last I saw him so maybe he's found a place
to hang out for the winter. About the same time I first saw
the pretty orange boy, I also noticed an all black kitty(also
a young one), but she ran away even faster than he did.
However, a few days ago, I noticed this cat going in through
a hole of an unused garage down the way. I saw it again
tonight eating food from the dumpster across the way from
the garage. Moki noticed this cat right away.He LOVES kitties
and knows all the ones he sees everyday. He had never seen
this before & was very interested. I'm thinking this one is a
female b/c she has picked a "food source" spot and seems
to being staying around longer than the orange boy. I have
not left food out for her yet b/c my outdoor cats might be
drawn to her hideout. Think I'll make a trip down the alley &
leave her a can of food after my guys have been closed up
in the garage for the night. Good food once a day is probably
better than whatever she's getting from that dumpster.

The long haired orange kitty showed up again. I have been
feeding him for 1 1/2 weeks now on my front porch. I have
the trap ready to catch him as he is very afraid of people. My
vet that works with stay/ferals was on vacation all of last
week so all I could do was offer food every evening & try to
let him see me & talk to him a liitle. I even managed to take
a few pics of him thru the front window a few days ago. I can't
believe how clean his fur still looks. His face looks to pretty to
be a male cat, but I know he is. I'm trying to gage when to set
to trap and get him into the vet to be neutered & checked out.
I would love to keep this sweet looking kitty. If my four indoor
kitties could accept him, I'd keep him for sure.I'm dropping off
film tomorrow, so maybe I can post of pic of this young one.

Good luck, Lizbud. Orange, long haired kitties are one of my favorites (of course all kitties are my favorites ) so it would be really neat if you could trap him and keep him. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
