There are some pain meds that are safe for cats that aren't steroids. YOu might want to ask the vet if he can give her those. When I saw she was limping it was scary because Smokey the Elder's cancer started with a limp. I'm glad Peanut has something manageable. She's such a nice kitty.

Thanks everyone, Peanut is doing much better. We were gone all weekend which was probably a good thing because then she was more quiet and less active all weekend. Last night when we finally got home we could hardly detect her limp and she was much more active than last week right after it happened.
This morning the limp was back, but not as bad, and I think it's just stiff after sleeping all night. I know when I've hurt something it's always stiff in the morning too. She came and begged for her treats and gobbled them up as usual. Today was the day for the next dose of aspirin, so she got that too. Hopefully in 3 more days she'll be all better and won't need another dose.
QSA, I hadn't even thought of the Cosequin. I've got some on hand because Tubby gets it, so maybe I'll ask the vet about giving it to her too - great idea, thanks!![]()
Slick, he didn't really do any tests. All he knew was that she was limping and he started feeling her all over and then he said "It's her left shoulder isn't it?" I was amazed but evidently he could feel that it was inflamed, or she flinched and pulled away when he felt her there although if she did that I didn't notice it. They can do x-rays or MRI's, but he just felt her and said that's what it is. It could be that Speckles has a touch of arthritis too. Tubby does and I give him the Cosequin for it and it seems to have helped.
Thanks again everybody. My little girl is on the mend. Her daddy calls her the little convalescent.![]()

Glad to hear Peanut is on the mend and yes, Debbie, that's what the vet did to Max too. He just felt around and Max flinched when he touched his back hip and then mumbled something about giving anti-inflamatory drugs and if that didn't help then an xray was the next step.
Smooches to you Peanut. Maybe you need another Mr. Smiley to help you feel better.![]()
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!
