I am glad the surgery was a success. YES, the next few weeks will seem like FOREVER, but in reality, it is short compared to a lifetime without troubles. So hang in there, we are all with you.

I am glad to hear that Cirrus's surgery wnt well. I hope he is feeling better soon and has a good recovery and no further problems.
{{HUGS}} for you Tracey and gentle pets for you, Cirrus.

I'm glad to hear Cirrus' surgery went well. It is probably just as well that he stays at the vet for a couple of days where they can keep an eye on him. I know it probably makes you feel mean and evil though!![]()
Keeping my fingers crossed that things go well when you get him home. Please let us know.
Tracey, I'm glad to hear everything went well for Cirrus. Both of you will continue to be in my thoughs and prayers.
P.S. When Smokey had his surgery he too managed to get out of hte e-collar. My vet let me use a different kind of collar. I do not know the name of it but what it was a very think collar (kind of like what a person would wear if they were in a auto accident) and then the collar was attached to what looked like a walking harness that went over his shoulders and then under the belly. Well, Smokey never managed to get out of this and was not able to get to his stitches. ---Meg

I've been defrosted-- Thanks, Sana
Thanks again everyone.I forgot to mention that Cirrus weighs a little over 16lbs
and my vet would like him to lose 3-4lbs. He'll be on the Calculi reducing diet so and I think he can only have 3/4 of a cup per day. Hopefully this will help him stay healthy and lose the weight too. He also can't run or jump for 2 weeks. I also learned that my vet's office will be opened on Presidents Day so that's a relief too.
I think the first 7 days should be fine because the pain meds make him sleepy. It's the other 7 that I'm worried about. I think I will ask my vet if he has another type of e-collar like the one Meg described.
Thanks for the updates Tracey!I am SO happy to hear the surgery went well.

Will be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers for all to go well over the next couple of weeks.
Hugs and kisses to the Big guy!![]()
I'm so glad to hear everything went well.I'm sure once Cirrus is home all will be forgiven, and once he's all healed he'll really thank you because he'll be healthy again and you and he won't have to worry about this coming back again and again and again.
Good luck with the next two weeks. It might seem like they take forever, but they'll be over before you know it. It seems like just yesterday Fister was going through this and look, it's been a year and a half already!![]()
Hugs to you and hugs and smoochies to all 4 boys.![]()

I was so happy to read that the surgery went well. I just knew that it would. Yes, I am sure that he does look a little mad, but you will be forgiven when he comes home. Joey had that same look while she was in the hospital. Just remember that this is for his health.
The next few weeks will seem like a long time but I am sure that you will survive.
I don't know if your 3 will do this, but a little warning, they may hiss at Cirrus because he smells so different. Don't worry they will get over it. Bob hissed at Joey for 3 days after she came home from the vet. No fighting, he just didn't like the way that she smelled and would hiss every time they walk close to each other. Like I said just a forewaring, I hope it doesn't happen.
Well give the boy some gentle scratches for me, and let us know how it is going.
Continued prayers for a speedy recovery. Also some for you.
I know that this is rough, but hang in there. Come her to complain if you need to, I along with alot of other will understand.![]()

Unfortunately Cirrus was a very bad boy at the vets. Yesterday even though it was my vets day off, he went to give Cirrus his meds. Well Cirrus was very grumpy and scared and he struggled so much that he managed to get out of his e-collar and he jumped off of the exam table and bit my vets leg pretty badly. They had to give him a sedative to get the e-collar back on and give him his meds. When I came in to pick him up, my vet said "Killer's Mom is here". I think the whole office was glad to see him go.
When I got home, I put Cirrus in a small confined area in my bedroom. I bought a baby gate to block him in. Within minutes he managed to knock over the gate and escape into my bedroom. Now I'm forced to let him have free reign in my bedroom. The other 3 will have to learn to live out in the main part of my condo. I also had to move the other 2 litterboxes out there because Cirrus can only use yesterdays news litter in an opened litter pan. In fact he already peed in it. He's also finally let me pet him a little bit.
I'm very worried that he's going to get out of his e-collar because part of the string that's used to tie it around his neck is already hanging down. I hope I'll be able to wrap it around his neck or I may need to take him back to the vet again tomorrow so they can retie it. My vet only has this one type of e-collar. I'm also going to try to mix his meds in some c/d wet food that they gave me. I fed him some of the dry food tonight and he loves it.
I also can't believe how active Cirrus is. He's acting pretty normal except that he bumps into everything due to the e-collar. He's not supposed to run or jump and he's been doing both so far. I don't know how to stop him from doing this. Since he's not your normal mannered cat, he won't be going back to the vet until he gets his stitches out which won't be until Feb. 25th. I made the appointment for 9am which is the earliest that they have.
Please wish me luck.
He sounds like he is doing quite well, even with the e-collar. I am sure that you are going to have your hands full for the next couple of weeks. However I am happy to hear that he is using the litter box, that sounds like a good sign.
I am sorry to hear he has a reputation at the vet now. Bob is getting one too.
Let us know how is doing, I expect updates.
Prayers for him to contiue on his speedy recovert. Prayers for you too I think that you will need them.![]()
