LOL Shiloh is getting fatter (and she's supposed to be on a diet!). She gets all that Killian won't eat. Now I'm making him meatloaf because he won't eat plain hamburger and rice. I hope he eats that! What we don't do for our furbabies!

Sue, I was so thrilled to hear the news of Killian's improvement. Remember, baby steps!! Let's just hope that he starts to get his appetite back soon. With all that homemade cooking, I'm sure he'll be back to his old self soon. I was particularly happy to hear that his enzymes had dropped so, even though still high. We can only thank the powers that be that this horrible mistake, if we can call it that, was caught in time. Sue, you must sit there and think, what if...what if....all day. Thank you for being such a good mommy. Please kiss the boy, (you know where) and tell him we all here love him and are saying our prayers. Keep us updated Sue. Love always, Sandra, Cody and Star

Oh, Sandra, you are so right. If I followed the vets directions, Killian would be dead. When I stopped the medication he was supposed to be on it for 12 more days!! I can't even think of it! However, if that "other" vet was smarter, I could have caught it 3 days earlier and he wouldn't have been as poisoned. From now on, I will be my vets worse nightmare. I will want to know what, why, when and if. I will present any and every possible scenario I can think of that could happen. Hopefully he isn't too damaged by this.
On a happy note, he ate some meatloaf. Such little things make me so happy! LOL

Nonsense, I say. Any vet worth their biscuits has to be glad to have patients' families that are as concerned and curious as can be - it will keep everybody happier and healthier. And I bet the worst part of any vet's day is a desperately sick animal because of owners' lack of knowledge.

Bug suggests ketchup on the meatloaf or cheese on top. she likes both of those methods of preparation and gobbles it up... You could also try a lamb or chicken meatloaf. Maybe use rice instead of breadcrumbs. maybe even jsut plain rice and scrambled egg. i am making myself pretty hungry here!

But bottom line - we are sooooo glad that the enzymes are heading in the right direction and the poison is leaving killians system. I vote for an afternoon lounge for sue and killian... feet up telie on - or a book - and just relax since you've both been through sooo much! Still praying and think of you two all the time!

    Sue:
I only came to this topic today, I don't read about "dog health" very often because it upsets me too much when a furry friend is sick. But it looks that I came to read good news.
I'm so glad that Killian is doing better. Both Carina and I send best wishes for a speedy recovery with many hugs and kisses. If good vibes send in cyberspace help, all will be good news from now on.

As usual, you guys are just so great!! Killi ate some meatloaf yesterday, but today he won't touch it. I put cheese on it (He used to LOVE cheese) but he wouldn't touch it. He gets me so worried. I ran out to buy some braunshweiger (he also LOVES that) and he did eat some, so I mixed some in with a little bit of Nutro canned Chicken and Rice for Seniors and I got him to eat a little of that! Shiloh, on the other hand, just stands around waiting for all that food Killi won't eat. It is so hard to feed a dog that doesn't want to eat. I'll keep trying though. Thank you all for your continued love, prayers and concern. Killi send his love and so do Shiloh and I!

Hi Sue..I'm glad to hear Killi is at least trying to eat a little. I know how frustrating it must be for you, trying EVERYTHING imaginable to get the appetite going. Give it a little more time. I'm sure the medic. played total havoc with him and when the liver is "assaulted" it particularly affects appetite. Please give him kisses you know where. Thinking of you both always and you are in our prayers daily.

Sue, have patience with him, I believe dogs know when they should eat and when not too.
If he is eating a little thats a good sign.
Just keep offering the things he likes, we are all looking for the day when you say he is eating everything in sight.
    Jackie

That news sounds promising. Killian, you have to get bettre okay? You have a LOT of people ordering you too, and from what I hear, you're a pretty obedient boy. So you better do what we say and get well soon

And Daisy's mouth is watering just hearing about your diet. I wouldn't be surprised if she started to fake sick so she can have some meat loaf too!
