While chances are I'd never buy a purebred dog, if I ever got the chance to rescue one these are the ones I wouldn't pass up:

    Great Dane
    American Bulldog
    Bull Terrier
    Basset Hound
    Bloodhound
    Boxer
    Greater Swiss Mountain Dog
    Boston Terrier
    Bull Mastiff
    Old English Mastiff

There are so many breeds I like, for sure a Chow because that is the only purebred I've had experience with and I love them, they are the best dogs. But I've always thought that bearded collies were so cute, but I'm not sure that I would be willing to deal with all the grooming.
    I've been Defrosted!

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

FROGSnDOGS I do hope you get your wish and your dream comes true! Standard poodles are awesome dogs! I have had two, (Bella in my signature is one) and actually have had a total of 6 poodles of all sizes in my adult life. I am a little envious of you living with 5 toys! They are little characters and oh so lovable, aren't they? I would love to see some pictures of your 5 if you get a chance.

    tikeyas_mom,

Are you shure the picture you posted is a
    Akita shiba cross?
Looks like what the pro split people in the US would call a Japanese type Akita. (I could be totally wrong)

    ?

I am probably going to get a Toller or a Toller mix.
I am also thinking of adopting a red and white siberian husky or a red merle Aussie shepherd.

    Wow.. an some-what old thread.

I'm leaning towards a (blue merle) Rough Collie as my third dog. I've found an excellent breeder near by. If I don't go for the Collie, my other choice I'm thinking about is a (red and white) Border Collie. After that, I'd like to get a Pit (cross?) from a shelter. And of course, there will be tons more Shelties in the future..

I would love an aussie or border collie mix from the shelter as my next dog. there are so many out there, sadly. And Gonzo NEEDS a playmate badly. Im getting so sick of being coaxed into taking him the dog park every day! Other dogs that I love and hope to get throughout my life are...

Cardigan Welsh Corgi, blue merle bi
    Border Collie, red/white
Border Collie, red or blue merle
    Australian Shepherd, blue merle tri
    Boston Terrier, brindle
    German Shepherd, Sable
Siberian Husky(if I could ever handle one), red/white or silver/white
