I'm so sorry I haven't checked any email....new 4 day work weeks and sickies at home so I'm in panic mode.....The boy went to the vet last night for a routine distemper shot, only to find out, dogs don't need it every year anymore....BUT I actually showed Dr, Fox, very dramatically of course, how Cody gets up from a sitting or lay position so that he could understand my concern. (If anyone else had seen me I'd be in loony bin), He thinks that Cody's knees have "thickened" , esp; the left , due to his ACL sir-jury and arthritis. He doubts it's ACL again but thinks Cody's in distress and made me promise to put him back on Rimydal 2x a day and to call him on Friday. Dr Fox said he's watch him like a hawk with the Rimydal. I still walk him every night but he doesn't go as far as usual. Of course the sweetie has to follow me everywhere I go- up and down stairs -afraid he'll miss something. He goes down the steps sideways by night time, and my heart just skips a beat. ARGH!

Aww, poor Cody. I was praying for better news.
Many years after Avalanche's ACL surgery, she developed arthritis in that knee.
Still praying that you get all better, Cody-boy!!

If the stairs are hurting him , then I would get some of those baby gates and block him from the stairs. You will probably need more that one. That way YOU can control how much he's going up and down and if it's his knees that are bothering him, then it would probably lessen the pain. We had to do this with Chester to keep him confined when he was young.

Thanks so much for asking, Sue..Amazingly, very well. No ill effects neurologically from his stroke. I have to admit the Rimydal is really working for him. He's getting up easier and walking longer and is back to his bad self. His nose is drippy and his eyes red again. The antibiotic cleared it up but it's back again. I wonder if he had a migrane or sinus infection? At any rate, if this cold (Achoo!) doesn't clear up, I'll be back to the vet....(I think they should name "The Big Room" after Cody!)

Hehehe, so true Karen and Phred. Our vet's office is now known as "Killian's Care Center"! LOL

Phred, Sue and Karen, I absolutely agree wtih you about the "naming" thing!!! LOL!!! I was certain that Dr. R would name his addition to his veterninary hospital after Kaycee, after all the hours, weeks and months we spent with him. He "thanked"me for helping him put his children through college.

Murphy may deserve her own wing, or even one of Phred's suggestions after going through her surgery next week. Just this weeks's visit was over $200. The Rimadyl was a pretty steep portion of that, but so was the grooming session and the office viist. Dr. R is not Murphy's vet and I wish he were.

Cody and Karen continue to be in my thoughts and prayers!! I LOVE good news and could use a lot of it now. Come on, Cody!!!!
