She sounds like she is a sweet kitty at heart and now she will have warmth, good food, and other kitties in her life. Good job on this rescue!

a cd. Baby is pretty scared by the flash of the camera, but I'll try to get
a few if I can without spooking her to much.

This is great news!!!! I've heard that many times feral cats prefer other cats over people so it sounds like she's going to accept your other cats without any problems. Hopefully they'll also accept her. Good luck.

Today I moved BK out from the secluded room she's been staying in
into a larger room where the sounds of the house are not as muffled.
She is closer to the furnace, washer & dryer, etc.She can also hear the
TV from upstairs. So far, so good.

She was all wide eyed and a little nervous at first, but calmed down
after I sat & talked to her awhile. Her little head was on a swivel as she
checked out all the new sights and sounds. Once she gets accustomed
to this room & these new sounds, I'll feel more comfortable letting her out of
the cage to explore a little. I can hardly wait.

Three out of the four boys are acting more comfortable with her now. Only
shy cat now is my Blackie who seems afraid to get too near BK. He did
finally touch noses with her this morning without hissing, so that's a good
sign I guess. I don't want to speak too soon, but I hope, hope, hope
this all works out. (knock wood)

Oooh, things are moving right along as they should be!

    Well done, all!

Sounds great! And you are letting her take her time...can hardly wait til she feels ok about exploring. I love your "swivel head' comment.

Hugs and cuddles to Baby as soon as she will allow them.

    Happy New Year!!
I just got all caught up on this thread too. I'm so happy Baby is in the house. And it sounds like there won't be much of a problem between her and the boys. You're lucky. I'm still having issues with my two cats, or should I say my girl cat.
I can't wait to hear she is out and about in the house. And I also can't wait for pictures. Take pictures of all of your furbabies to use the rest of the film. I'd like to see all of them anyway.
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Hello, Wow, What an experience so far. I too just found this thread & read it from the beginning until now. You are a caring patient person to bring BK into your home. I'll be checking back to see what is going on. Kay in NC, Sat, Jan 8 at 11:40am

    HOORAY FOR BABY KITTY
This reminds me so much of 6 years ago when I was trying to convince Scrappy Two that being a Found Cat would be a good thing.
She was so lucky to have Young Cats like Miquelito and Pouncierge to play with and Moose, Joseph and Michael to be her mentors
Now your Boys will be Baby Kitty's Mentors and be her Friends and amke her happy that she decided to be Your Cat.

Things are progressing pretty well. Baby is now completely out of the
cage but still spends overnights in her separate room. This afternoon
she spent all her time exploring both rooms & touching noses with the other
kitties. I just sat nearby and read a book.

She is so much at ease with other cats around. I always had the feeling
she would enjoy being near other friendly kitties. She & Joey, my youngest
black dsh cat, are getting along the best so far.

It's not all roses yet, but I am pleased so far. She is out of the freezing
cold, she is warm ,comfortable and safe. I think she might always prefer
the company of other cats to humans, but I love her enough to let her be
who she is. She still comes when I call her & that's enough for me.

Sounds like your transition is working out just fine! Kittens are so easy to incorporate into a home of older cats. They just smack them silly till they finally get it. Long as there's no blood shed. Have a squirt bottle handy. Great job, Lizbud!!

Thanks Donna. Baby Kitty is not a kitten. She has lived in my garage
for the last 4 1/2 years. I think she was about 6-7mos when she first showed
in the neighborhood. She is just so small & acts so kittenish, I started to call
    her Baby.

Pictures are coming, I promise. I've just been bending over backwards to
make everything as stress free as possible & none of the cats are big fans of
the camera, especially Baby. The flash scares her.

It shouldn't be to hard to snap a few though as everyone settles down
a little more. Slow & easy is the motto around here right now.
