    Dear Politicians

Stop using robocallers to leave messages on my answering machine - they're not smart enough to wait for the message to end, so it cuts off the first part of your recording any, making you seem even more clueless than you might be.

Stop sending me junk mail - you'll never convince me to vote for you that way - it'll just either make me think how much money you wasted on an expensive weight of paper and size of card, when you're trying to convince me you'll be smart about sending MY money

Do NOT think Paladino had a good idea sending a stinky mailer to potential voters in upstate New York. You sickened not only my brother but several other workers at the Post Office, and sent a snarky response when he emailed you. I pity the poor letter carriers, as they are bound by law to deliver the mail, and you're gonna make their cars, backpacks, etc., stink for days, smell up people's mailboxes and make them want to throw away anything it touched. Not exactly a positive image - everyone will just think of you as the disgusting guy.

Do not comment on issues from other states and expect to impress us. You are running for office HERE and I do not care what people in other countries or states think of you, or how much money they give you, when you couldn't even find your way around Back Bay, never mind find Buffumville on a map, or know that Peru is the name of a Massachusetts town.

Remember, I am an American, I have the right to vote, I pay taxes and your salary, and have more than one brain cell. Tell the truth about yourself, don't spend time bad-mouthing others or we will think you have nothing positive about yourself to say.

We have routinely been getting TV commercials for Barney Frank here.

Last I heard, Rhode Island was not part of Massachusetts.

That's okay, the guy running against him has so many domain names, no one really is clear how to pronounce his name, and he probably still doesn't have a prayer. That's about all I know about him - no positions or policies, just that he's anti Barney Frank.

I always felt sorry for Rhode Island, as I am sure you gets lots of political commercials for other states because you're small geographically, and wedged between MA and CT. Then again, we get Red Lobster commercials, and I don;t even know where there is one within driving distance ... never mind within my state!

Too me a while, but noow I realize WHY we get those commercials.

If you live in Southeastern Mass., and you use Comcast, you do NOT get the Boston channels, you get the Providence ones! it is not an option, you just can't get the Boston news at all on your TV.

I'm getting pretty sick of the political ads here...and our election isn't really all that contested. I can't imagine how annoying in the races that are on the news more.

Bravo, Karen!!! Especially about those annoying robo-calls. Last week or so I got a robo-call from a candidate. It came at a bad time and I got so mad I called back & said to take my number off the list because that call cost them my vote and there's no chance of getting it back.

My message to all political candidates: Stop insulting our intelligence! We citizen/voters are perfectly capable of making a decision based on issues not your slams against your opponent.

Karen, I had 3 "robocalls" yesterday. Grrr! I'll just be glad when the TV and radio ads are gone. They are so negative and they've gotten more frequent over the last week or two. Like K9karen said, four in a row. Ick ick.

The only thing I can say to the candidates is that this has been, by far, the nastiest campaign I can remember. The main focus seemed to be "my opponent is a raving jerk because..." There was very little discussion on the issues and what the candidates intend to do about them if elected.

I've voted in every primary and general election since turning 21. I follow campaigns closely in order to make an informed choice when going into the voting booth. Not so easy to do this time around. After these past few months, I'm not sure any of them are fit to hold public office.

    Candidates, in future campaigns:

Stop the robo calls. They're annoying, intrusive, and might cause you to lose more votes than you gain.

Tell me what you see the issues to be then tell me exactly what you'll do about them if you're elected.

STOP insulting my intelligence with negative ads and fliers. Give us some facts, we voters CAN make our own informed choice.

Keep your opponent's families out of your campaign completely. We vote for candidates, not their relatives good or bad.

Your negative low blows against your opponent must stop. I don't really care about something they might have said or done 25-30 years ago. It's what they say and do now that really matters.

Believe it or not, the source of your funding is important to many of us. Aside from the $10 or $15 you get from middle class supporters, some of us want to know who is making mega-contributions. Prove to us that you "can't be bought" by being open and honest on this.

And next time around, approach us as the intelligent people we are. DO NOT tell us we're not patriotic and anti-American if we don't accept your position. The fact that we do vote proves you wrong!

I thought I'd give you all a bit of a grin - yesterday, just as I was gearing up to clear all the leaves I could from the front stairs and sidewalks in preparation for the trick-or-treaters, the doorbell rang. It was a nicely dressed woman, older than me, with a clipboard, and as I did not recognize her as one of my neighbors, I was instantly suspicious.

"I'm here for the Patrick (our current governor, Deval Patrick) campaign," she began ...

And I promptly cut her off, and said, "I am not interested in spending time with this, I have work to do."

She tried to cut in with a protest about not taking much time, and I looked at her and said, "I have already decided. I am voting for the candidates who bother me the least."

She did not know what to say to that, hesitated, then got the (not very subtle) hint and left. Thank goodness!

Danny Glover called me yesterday and told me to vote for the marijuana initiative.

    Top that.

    -----------

    All of you!

    Quit complaining about the elections.

    Really, If anything?

It reveals the stupidity of the people you DO NOT WANT IN OFFICE!

I loved the Witch, Aqua Buddah and the Barbara Boxer's scrunched up mug in the commercials/news.

    You have to love it?
