Why does such simple things always manage to escalate so much?

Before I forget, welcome to Pet Talk Ferretor, cute avatar you got there

jackiesdaisy1935, I don't wanna babble on and on and respond to everything you've said, so just let me say this... Ditto to everything that Soledad has been saying. I do want to respond to a few things so here goes:

I NEVER EVER said I knew more about the USA than you did. All I did was respond to your accusation ("the member who has no knowledge about what she is talking about"). So all I said was that I do know what I talk about since I have lived in the USA for two years, I never acted like I knew more than you. Stop trying to twist my words please.

Something that I also found amusing was your statement that:

Calling me "immature and silly" sure shows a loooooooot of intelligence and respect, doesn't it?

jackiesdaisy1935, I know you feel like you are a martyr and that I'm driving you away from Pet Talk, but please realize that I'm not. The last time you got upset at something I said (the angel thread if I remember correctly) you ALSO said you were leaving Pet Talk for good. So with that in mind, I'm pretty sure you'll stick around Just calm down and atleast try to respect that people can have other opinions than your own. And you know, I didn't even MENTIONED the USA in my original post, so all you are doing is digging up the past. Unecessary, wouldn't you agree?

Look... In the angel thread (where you posted a link to that one post I made a year ago and the link to my boyfriend's website and where you said my boyfriend makes you want to vomit) I posted a very long response to you. However, Karen deleted it because I used "inappropriate language" (I think it was the word that is commonly shorted BS if anyone's interested). I don't need your comments AGAIN. Ok? I'm holding in a lot of things right now since I don't want Karen to delete my post again, so just leave me and the past alone, ALRIGHT?! If you wanna go around and PM people the links and your comments again, then do so, but don't make me see it because it makes me see red.

Please sign my guestbook if you have the time

u mean this whole fight is because of a year ago??
ok answer me this question,HOW OLD R U PEOPLE? !!
I will repeat myself GROW UP, let bygones be bygones & start acting like adults, not 5 year olds...

I hate fighting, I know I wasn't here last year & I don't really know anyone here, but so far from what I've been reading, this fight is really really stupid & should have never started.
I've heard theres something called private threads or something like that, so I sudjest from now on, if anyone has any beef with someone elst to USE THE PRIVATE THREAD THING, so people like myself & CHILDREN don't have to read the stupid fighting.

Ann, I said nothing about vomitng - no idea what you are talking about.

I am sorry if your past link upset you this much. Your boyfriend is a member here on this message board and you can get the direct link to his web site.

Don't read the messages then if they upset you - relax and play with your pet.

You guys! Karen said to stop...we need to respect that....I've learned that you can't express your opinions on here without being attacked...its sad...but that's how things seem to be now. Besides...I don't think what people do here all the time is express opinions, but tear down others. (I'm not directing this at anyone in peticular, I've been "attacked" for my opinions here too.)

Lets just drop it and discuss what this thread is about...the way some people DON'T take responsibility for thier dogs. That is terrible...especially when its the innocent who suffer.

Or....lets talk about the different types of sled dogs...that was quite interesting to me, being a native Californian myself.

    ChrisH,
I LOVE your signature picture!! What is your pup's name??? He is adorable!!!

About this topic...I know someone who won't pay for a dog trainer or learn on her own how to train her dog. Just for basic manners and NOT to pee in the house. It's amazing to me why people wont do that as well....it makes the dog happier.

    What do you think?

Thanks NoahsMommy. My dogs name is Bob, (his registered name is Cwm Mawr Jet but it is too much of a mouthful to use. lol.)

What do I think about someone who refuses to train a dog, or have it trained? My first thought is a question. why? Anyone with any sense should realise that even with just basic training life is easier, and happier, for both dog and owner. I know some dogs can be harder to train than others (my Bob was/is harder work than any other dog I have had) but in my experience almost all dogs learn the basics pretty early, most times pretty easily too, house training and sit being the easiest. The rest may be harder and take longer but are well worth the effort and make for a happier dog and owner.
Having said that, Bob will not do recall when outside so, in order to keep in control of my dog, I have to compromise and just not let him off-leash. Some of my fellow dog owner/walkers say to me, (and make me mad) is, "go on, let him off" and things like that but I refuse. I know my dog, although friendly he is very boisterious and I do not want him to run at some child (or adult for that matter) and knock them over or frighten them, or indeed for him to run out into the road and get knocked down or get lost on the sprawling estate I live on.
So, how do I sum up on what I think of someone who won`t train their dog. At the least I think they are misguided and irresponsible

I live with 2 untrained dogs & they both drive me up the wall (I rent a room in the basement). These dogs pee & poo in the basement & the owners could care less. When ur trying to eat, the dogs try to steal ur food, stare at u or snap at eachother. Both dogs don't know how to sit, lay down, go away, get, no, bad, good, come or stay. these dogs r brain dead. Theres horrible to live with. These dog have never been scolden.
I really really do not like the smaller black dog here, she is super mean & vicious (the bigger dog isn't really mean), if u tell the smaller dog to get off the couch or move out of ur way, she grawls & snaps at u, if u try to play with the bigger dog, the smaller one comes up & attacks the bigger dog & runs off with the toy.
I do not like owners who do not attempt to train there dogs at all.

It took me a very short time to train my dog (except house training that took months), my dog sits, lays down, stays, comes, walk back, sit pretty, jump up, show teeth, open mouth (used at the vets office), get in the tub, walk, heal, walk ur self, wait up, much, run, stop & right & left (used for retreaving or pulling a sled or walking himself), look both ways (used for crossing the road), no, bad, in ur kennel, on the couch, bed time, go pee, go poo, watch the cat (used for protecting birds at the feeder), fetch, return, shake (used to shake water off him) shake paw, give me 5, great big high 5 ( jumpes up & gives u 2 high 5s at the same time), search (used for the easter egg hunt, or finding someone or something), truck, car, get the cat or get the dog (used for chasing dirty strays or loose dogs/cats off the yard, he doesn't attack, just chases)... thers so much more he knows I can't even remember them all...

All I can say is that hes a multitask dog & I love him for it...

    ChrisH,
Your Sam sounds just precious! And I agree...people that don't train unruly dogs are irresponsible. What kind of life does a dog have if it has no guidence? Kind of like children too, huh?

    Jess,
Your pup sounds wonderful!! I bet it's fun playing and being with him! Do you have any pictures of him?

Kingrattus, let's move this discussion to e new thread, where folks can talk about things peaceably! It's gotten far off the original topic, so let's not prolong this one any further, okay? Post that in a new thread, and carry on!

I don't think that the Jingo should die, and it isn't nice to say about any animal. I do however, feel the dog should be taken away ASAP from the owners. They sound like they should not have any kind of pet of any sort....not even a hamster! If they knew that the dog attacks other dogs, 1. The gate should have been closed and maybe a lock on it! 2. The dog should also be penned(spelling) up for added protection to the neighbourhood with a roof (since I read they can jump a 6ft fence and crawl up walls.

People should check into the breed of animal before they get one!

I hope the lab recovers (poor pup) and the mother gets better real soon. Unfortunately she will probally be terrified of dogs since this happened.

Jindos is a great breed with the proper training. I would say this incident could be cultural as Jindos are allowed to walk around Korea without a leash, but I have to say it's not because people had talked to the owner, which means that the owners are being irresponsible. In Korea there have been problems of Jindos attacking other pets but there have been no recoeded incidents of the dogs attacking humans. Studies suggest that it seems to be a territorial behavior, which with proper training the dogs can be well behaved. Any dog can be violent without the proper handling and care. I've seen through experience violent golden retrievers and even violent poodles over the years and much of the problems is the lck of knowledge of how to handle different dog breeds. In fact I not only seen violent dogs that are known to be well behaved, but dogs like Chow Chow and pitbulls that have never barked or jumped at a person and sadly these dogs are on the opposite ends of the spectrum considered sadly by many misinformed people to all be violent and vicious.
