Thank you everyone! "Hank" just was a inside joke, between my mom, her friend and I. We were talking about how someone named a dog, "Hank", and it just didn't seem like a dog name that's fitting, but somehow it just ended up as the RIGHT name for this little guy! Funny, huh? It turned out to be the name that was supposed to be his all along. I just know, when I get unhappy with him, I will have a full name for him, and it's "Hank Williams Counts!" Haha

Most likely, I hope to see him next weekend when my parents bring him down, so we can see him. I would LOVE to watch him and play with him... so cross your fingers!! Hopefully.. so I could have new pictures, I mean, TONS of new pictures! ALSO, I told my mom/dad to send me MORE pictures today.

IRescue452, that is really interesting. We'll have to see as Hank gets older. His body is really low, but long. He has long ears, and it seems possible he could be a Basset, mix along too with Boxer, but again, it's fun guessing what he is! Whatever he is, he's just a cute boy!

I just feel so happy and it just feels so right having him in our home. He's the perfect addition. He seems to have a great temperament, he's so curious about everything, so he's always on the run and walking around. He is already making himself at home already. My mom said that he started sitting at the same spot Rosie used to sit in the kitchen, already looking for food? I laughed because that's all Rosie ever did. Also, when my mom came home from her friend's house, what did Hank do?? He came running to greet her!

Anna is still ignoring him, she seems to be in her little world right now, lost and lonely. So I still don't know what she thinks of Hank, but it's interesting. She has NO interest in Hank, and Hank has no interest in Anna. I found that odd. On another note, she may be developing dementia, and she is taking medications for it. Her legs are starting to be stiff so it takes her a while to get up and lay down. She has slowed down A LOT the past year. She's becoming my old lady.. it makes me sad, but I'm so thankful. She's a great girl. Hopefully she will come around and at least appreciate Hank!

    More later!

Hank is just the sweetest little guy! He is so adorable!!!! The last pictures of your mom with Hank reminds me of when Tucker was a baby. He used to fall asleep in the weirdest positions. I have pictures of Kay with him wrapped around her neck like a scarf or something. Puppies are just too cute! Have you been able to smell puppy breath from all those pictures?

It is sad to see Anna slowing down. I don't think their reaction to each other is all that unusual considering their ages. Although it will be interesting to see how long it takes Hank to start bothering her trying to get her to play. Oreo acted like a really old lady when we started to add to our family of pups. The more pups we got the younger she got. She could barely get around when we got Taggert but taking them all to the dogpark and having someone to annoy her seemed to give her a new lease on life. I sometimes wonder if she would have lived the extra couple of years if it had not been for the pups. She never "bonded" with any of them but they certainly made her last years interesting!

I just thought of something. Hybrid breeders who combine boston terriers with bassets or beagles love using brindle. Most that I've seen are brindle and most that I've seen look 99% like the hound part of their family. Come to think of it, brindle might just be the dominant color that comes from those crossings. Maybe he's got boston terrier in him.

Wow.. I wonder? That's pretty cool, I had no idea about that. Interesting!!!

I believe you're correct, actually.. he is half Beagle, half Boston Terrier.. and I didn't even know there was a name for that hybrid breed - "Boglen Terrier".. who cares, though.. right? He's just a unique mutt to me.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Pretty much!!

He is really smart, and he's doing well on housebreaking - Hopefully in a couple weeks, he will be housebroken.

OMGosh!! Congradulations to you, your family and Anna. He is absolutely precious. I think he really does look like the DOD Beagle/Boston mix. What a sweetheart. I bet you are so excited to see him. Give him lots of kisses from me too would you?

Being this adorable is a lot of hard work! And Anna, hang in there, sweety girl.

I, for one, love the name Hank!! He looks like a Hank!!! There is a large series of children's books about Hank the Cowdog, so I think Hank is a perfect name for a dog!!! I could just give him smooches....and Anna, too!! My old girl, doesn't like Boomer much....I don't think she would stand near him without a fence in between.....I let her have her space....I figure she deserves to live out the rest of her life without having to deal with a wild puppy she doesn't want to deal with. I tried to get them to bond, but she just didn't want to.....
