Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Upward and onward with my pictures:
When Barbara and Siegmar first arrived at my place, Max had to check out the goods thoroughly.
Barbara brought some of that addicting Vitamin paste for Max which he just loves. He gets a little bit once a week at a treat. Sorry don't have any pictures of that. Barbara also brought me a gift too....some salad tossers in the shape of bear claws. They are awesome.
Barbara and Gini with Max
Barbara and Max
A great one of Barbara and Max, although Max doesn't look too pleased. He really doesn't like getting picked up that much.
Although this one is dark, I like it. Siegmar and Gini looking at the view from my deck.
A beautiful picture of Betty (Bengalz) and Gunter. Unbeknownst to me before this meeting, she only lives about 20 minutes from me.
Hmmm, I wonder who's glass is being refilled???
Taking a picture of me....taking a picture of you
----more coming

Group shot
Getting hungry yet???
Outside the restaurant
The next morning Gini and I met Barbara and Siegmar for breakfast. It was the last day of their tour and the day they flew home. They shared many pictures of Tigris and Filou with us. It felt felt like I was right there.
After breakfast they packed their rental car and drove off to the airport. I can tell you that it broke my heart to see them go.We only shared one evening and one morning with them and it wasn't nearly enough. Thank you both for the wonderful hugs and for sharing part of your journey with me.
Don't go away....more pictures coming.....

Awww....what a great thread. Absolutely love the pics!
How come everything always happens on the west coast? Come east, I say!![]()
Don't be afraid that your life will end. Be afraid that it will never begin.
Gini stayed with me for a few more days after Barbara and Siegmar left and apparently dear little Max didn't want Gini to be doing any packing to leave any time soon.
Gini and I went whale watching and saw a lot of transient whales. It was my first time whale watching and it blew me away. I wasn't expecting it to be quite so emotional.
I like this one because it captured another whale spouting....at least I think that's what it's called.
This guy came up really close to the boat. It's so hard to capture good pictures. I clicked and clicked but only came up with a few good ones.
Gini left to go home on August 1st. It was truly a wonderful visit and to get to know such warm people. I'll never forget this vacation.![]()

![]()
It was a most memorable visit and the opportunity to meet really wonderful people. Thank you again Barbara and Siegmar and Gini and Slick
Cass,
We'll definitely have to think about a meeting in the east - can't wait to get my hands on your gorgeous kitties (especially Steve); I have tentatively planned a trip to Toronto in April 2009 - definitely a possibility
May have to talk Slick into coming with me

Great pictures, Slick! And I have to say, you look absolutely fabulous -- not only are you physically gorgeous, you just seem to radiate absolute HAPPINESS -- you are GLOWING! I'm so glad to see these pics of you! It warms my heart.
And that Max -- oohhhh what a mushy faced fluffball! What I wouldn't give to plant a kiss on that head.
I really enjoyed everyone's pictures. Wish I could've been there. Maybe one of these days!
How tolerant Max was - such a good boy! Allowing himself to be picked up and adored so much!
(I bet he misses it just a teensy bit!)
What a great visit! Wow - I envy you guys!
My mom has taken a notion to visit the Butchart Gardens (sp?) at some point...have NO idea what the best time of year is - but maybe a few of us could meet up?
If not for having to find my mom a new home page in 2004, I never would have found Pet Talk! And she does peer over my shoulder now and again, and I show her things here. So she could be an Honorary PTr?
Great pics and stories - wonderful!![]()

Aaawwww- I wanted to post my pics yesterday but had to de-install and re-install Siegmar's CD burner which broke down and he cannot live without it.
These pics are fantastic- they reflect so much what a wonderful time we had. I have a very good portrait of Slick so stay tuned.
Thanks a million time to our Vancouver hosts Betty, Gunter and Eve, Slick and Max.
And Gini- that was some whale watching! I saw humpbacks so far and grey whales but of course I want to see some Orcas and you saw them that close. Awesome!
I feel I have to come back![]()
Barbara,
Unfortunate about your CD Burner and I hope things are again working well for Siegmar - hugs to both of you.
I am so looking forward to seeing your photos as I'm sure there are some very interesting ones in the collection
Hugs and kisses to you, Siegmar, Filou and Tigris. Purrs and headbumpies from Eve, of course![]()

What wonderful pictures!
Max of course had to check what was in the bag - like all kitties do. LOL! I’m sure it was worthwhile.I’m very impressed that Barbara was allowed to hold Max - and what a great picture it is!
It’s so nice to finally see who Bengalz is... and her husband, and it’s nice you’re so close to each other.![]()
The restaurant looks fabulous - what a gorgeous view - and a yummy dessert!
I love seeing you look so fresh, Slick, like Tonya says: You radiate happiness and good health!![]()
The whale watching must have been awesome, I would have loved to see them that close - I almost could have, as recently, a whale was spotted straying around in the waters around Denmark.
So glad you all had a great time!

I had to hop on the internet again this morning to take a look again. You guys all look so great and I bet you all had a wonderful time! Great food, great company, great scenery. You guys had it all!
Hey, that would be great! And if not, I need to visit the west coast at some point.![]()
