Oh yeah, and I got an "oral warning" for being under in my till. The guy said it generally isn't a big deal and all my friends have gotten them but it's just annoying. I still like my job but sometimes I don't..like today I got told not to look at my cellphone in front of guests. I wasn't in front of guests, and I'm sorry for looking at the time.

rant over..I know when I get into rants my posts get unnesicarily long..sorry

Well, just wanted to say I OFFICIALLY WORKED ALL SUMMER! I am DONE-FINISHED. I wish I could say that, but the season is not over yet. Still have 3 months of working on Saturday I've met alot of friends, and I mean ALOT (basically my entire department) so, I am fine with it and I'll survive but I am so sick of six flags, let's just say it's gotten to the point where I don't even like going as a guest anymore. Today was my last day of work for the summer, I start school next Thursday, so it's back to weekends. I must say though, I'd choose work over school any day, at least I get paid and have SOME sort of fun.

This has been an overall great summer, probably my best summer yet, and I think I've matured alot(in some ways).

    Okay, I'll stop now.

ETA- I know, I never stop talking but I forgot to add 1 thing

Also, I'm probably going to work at SF next season too, because I like it, but I'm tired of the games department. I might switch to Entertainment, Attractions, or I COULD do games again, but I probably end up doing entertainment so I have my foot in the door for working with the tigers, or at least getting an internship, hehe but that's a whole other story

    Well Done!
I always preferred work to school but I was lucky to have great jobs with great people. Maybe if I got paid to go to school, I'd have liked it better. I guess I should say that...bad influence to the younger PT members. I am half joking though.

Well done Alyssa! You stuck at it so well, even with certain narky supervisors and guests.

I know you would be great at working with the tigers once you're old enough, I really hope it works out for you!!

Well, just wanted to say I might be done with Six Flags for awhile. I feel like I was treated like crap on Saturday. It's like they forgot how hard I worked for them ALL summer.

So, I wanted to go to Six flags for the fun of it. I went to fright fest saturday night. So I got to guest relations, hand the lady my I.D., and she says "Sorry, I can't let you in. Your I.D. is no longer valid because you haven't worked in two weeks. We can talk to your supervisor, sorry." To me she had a nasty tone. THEN she takes my I.d. which I needed to hand in with my uniform, even though that was taken care of and all and I didn't get into trouble for it. I was so frustrated at that point trying to think of how to get into the park. My friends had driven me there and my parents weren't home or anything so I had no way of getting home. So, I went up to the counter and demanded to talk to my supervisor. I had went up to a different counter, and the guy simply gave me a ticket to get in. I guess he didn't want to be bothered.

Sure, I got in afterall, but it just made me really upset. I worked hard all summer and JUST because I hadn't worked in two weeks I "was no longer employed". ARE you kidding me? So apparently I was laid off without knowing? It's not MY fault they took me off the schedule at 10 PM two weeks ago seriously. It's not my fault they didn't put me on the schedule. Wow, get the hell over it. If my friend Kelly doesn't work there next year, I'm not either. I work for them all summer, and I get treated like sh**. Well then it's over. Oh, and not to mention they didn't give me a bonus either, well yet. This is the first year they didn't. I freakin' worked 5 days a week all summer at the age of 15 years old. I stayed to the BITTER end of the season and you can't give me $100..Well go have fun without me next season. Seriously, I'm so pissed about this.

At least you still got in, free at that. The other lady was following pre-set rules, I'm sure. We all have to do that sometimes.

Take a deep breath and realize that you still made out okay by getting in free.

I don't know why, but I just thought I felt the need to update this thread one last time. My last post in this thread wasn't exactly happy or nice..for that matter I said I would never work for them again..and blah blah blah, but I guess it was the heat of the moment and now there is no place I would rather work. Around here, it's either Six Flags, McDonald's, or the mall and I am certainly never doing retail again after last season. I can't deal with rude guests and bosses anymore, and frankly I was tired of it.

Last year I had a love/hate relationship with my job but looking back on it now I can't believe I ever actually did that department, ever. The people were rude, the bosses were rude, I got paid much less then I should've been for all the work we do, I often did things I never wanted to, I handled money(which is something I will never want to do again), and let's just say I will never want to do any of that again. I had to talk into a microphone, and being a shy person didn't make that easy. I was always getting yelled at for stupid things. Brakes were sparce, it was 45 mins and we could have been stuck at a game for 4 hrs or more.

I told my mom if I had no other choice of depts. I'm not working there next year. Well, thank GOD for my sister who worked in entertainment last year. She dragged me into it, and honestly it doesn't sound too promising. I am a costume character now/an escort/and I am in parade to. When I say I love my job, I mean LOVE! I want to leave early for work everyday(I usually work nightshift). I love being a character, it's the best job in the world. We get plenty of breaks. It is hot, yes, but I really don't mind it AT ALL. I have so much fun and I love making people happy. I act like such a fool because no one knows who it is. I give hugs, high-fives, dance, take photos, etc. I've met such good friends and fit right in with entertainment, which is hard because we're all pretty weird. But anyway, I just thought I'd update this one last time and clarify what I managed to do with a bad season and started with a new season. This proves that you can love where you work. If games offered me a higher salary to come back(and they did), I would NEVER go back. I get paid $8.60 now, not bad for a 16 year old. I never thought this job would appeal to me but long story short, when an oppurtunity comes take it, you never know what may come out of it.

Oh, and no mean supervisors, no stupid rules, no talking to the public, no money involved! Life is good

The only thing I can complain about is the injuries sustained, which haven't been terrible for me but it can be horrific. Guests don't know how to be gentle. The only terrible thing that happened to me was my back was jumped on and the shoulder pad collasped on my right shoulder and it HURT so bad, and still does. This happened 3 weeks ago.. But other then that, I wouldn't trade this job for anything right now.

How ! I always admired the folks in those costumes. It's gotta be hot and I've seen people jump them. But, honestly, I'd love it too! What better way to act like a fool and not be recognized! I'm SOOOO happy you love your job! Sometimes things suck before they get better. I like happy endings!!! Thanks for the uppity date!
