Thanks for the updates Gini and Laurie! I'm sorry to hear Slick had a rough day yesterday, but I'm glad to know she had a good nights sleep. Hopefully the pain will be less each day. I'm sure she'll make the walk OK today!

Slick, I'm thinking of you non stop and wishing you a speedy recovery!!

    (((((((hugs)))))))

  3. ALmost exactly a year ago my husband had surgery to repair a nasty rotator cuff tear. The pain he was in! Remembering that my heart aches for our girl Slicker! But, I know that "this too shall pass" and she will be rollerblading around the hospital in no time!

I haven't been keeping up with things lately, but I checked in here this morning and wanted to let Slick know she has continued to be in my thoughts and prayers. Slick, I'm thinking of you and praying for you. You're attitude is so inspiring and heartwarming. Gentle hugs on the way to you.. I know the news of Kiara will bring a huge smile to your face

I was thinking this morning about Slick saying they had checked out her heart before the surgery and everything was fine.

Gosh, we all knew that didn't we? No one has a bigger heart than Slick!

I think back on the BBQ and that she sent presents for everyone that attended - even my neighbor.

Laurie, thanks so much for the update - I need to call you soon.

Maybe I can grab a bottle of that Pusser's Rum from Thursdays and take it up to Slick - probably wouldn't go too well with the meds - but it would be virtual rum anyway - and no harm done.

How I pray that today is just a bit easier for her.

Rum and drugs? With that combo, she just might believe it IS Christmas!

Seriously, the pain is to be expected, but I'm sorry she's having such a rough time of it. I'll never forget the pain I was in after my mastectomy and that was through the really good drugs. "They" say you forget it; you don't. For whatever reason, the third day after surgery is usually the worst and then it suddenly gets better.

Prayers and good thoughts going out that Slick has an easier time of it from here on out. We don't want our gal hurting.

    Already done!!!
I knew that would be needed. You just can't go through that type of surgery without a world of hurt. Still every minute that passes now brings the time closer when the pain will be over.

Hang in there Slick sweetie. It's all over but the healin now!!!

Slick, we're all thinking of you, the pain is bad, but it'll get less and less every day, right? We hope, and those walks in your cool slippers - think of them as sightseeing, not torture, okay? Smile at everyone you pass, even if you don't feel cheery - it'll cheer them up, and that cannot hurt, right?

I just got off the phone with Slick (she was loaned a phone to take the call, won't have one for awhile). She sounds wonderful (if a bit buzzed ) but was so happy to hear about Kiki Kay, and asked me to send a round of drinks to Thursdays. She was very tired so we only spoke for a bit. I'll call you Gini, Randi, Karen (do I have your number?), ChrisH ~ what a happy phone call
