    Yippie, during the night, Zazou produced two extra large tootsie-rolls and several pee-biscuits!! And this morning, she was grooming herself!!
    We are still busy intruducing her to our other cats. Maya is playing the "mighty princess": "I do not look, so there is nothing!"
    Inka starts hissing when she is getting to close to the newbie
    I took several pics already, but no time to resize them.....
    Tomorrow, okay?

    Awwwwww - what a cutie! Congratulations, Lut! I'm glad it all worked out! Zazou is very pretty! I'll be looking forward to new pics along with the rest...

    I don't understand, though, why she's so skinny? Didn't they feed her well at the center? Well, anyway, she's bound to be spoiled now - in her new forever home with you and Maya and Inka!

    When she was found in that cool-box, she was even skinnier and still nursing her 4 kittens! They took very good care of her at the shelter! That shelter is an "absolutely-no-kill-center"; they even take in sick cats and make sure they get better. We saw the "sick-bay": there was a gorgeous siamese. They found her in the dumps, all muddy, and deadly sick. The vet comes EVERY day to take care of all the cats, for a minimum charge. We will donate money for this shelter, as they give up any luxury; everything they own goes to the pets!

    Yes, and a mom cat that starts out skinny and is nursing babies will not gain weight until the babies are weaned no matter how well she is fed. Bonnie came to me pregnant and very skinny. She was fed well but she never gained weight until after the babies stopped nursing. Zazou should start to fill out more now.

    Congratulations! Zazou is gorgeous!

    A few years ago I fostered a skinny mama who was nursing 5 kittens. She ate almost 2 lbs (1 kilo!!) of food a day!

    Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers

    Zazou is so pretty! I love long haired tuxedo cats. I really like her name too, did you name her or did the shelter? She already looks so comfortable in her new home. Congratulations!
