I DID have a wonderful birthday! It started out with Missy calling and singing "Happy Birthday" to me - she also sang to me last night when it was already my birthday in Japan.

Bryan, Chris and Misha came over and Chris made my favorite dinner - meatloaf, REAL mashed potatos and broccoli w/cheese - while I sat in my easy chair. She also brought over HOMEMADE chocolate cake. She even made me my own little heart shaped cake - because I had told her that when I was growing up, that is what I always had Do I have great kids??

I had pressies, too - pajamas with kitty-cats (what else?), kitty socks, writing pens, an assortment of smelligoods from Healing Garden and an Amish cookbook by Beverly Lewis - who is my current favorite author!! (Renae - are you reading this??) It was Mina's Momma got me started on these books by giving me my first book by Lewis in a gift swap.

Fun and interesting part.... we went to a favorite place that is a working dairy where they make homemade ice cream, have animals to look at, etc....it was very crowded so I asked two ladies if we might share their table....so they stayed and joined us in sharing my birthday cake The mom of the two was 88 years old and SHE sang to me, too So, we made two new friends, too

Thank you all so much for the birthday greetings - I loved each and every one - this thread was a happy way to end my day!!

I know having your grand-kitty home must be one of the best birthday gifts, ever.. but knowing your little girl and her little boy are coming home soon, too. What a wonderful feeling, huh!?

I'm so sorry I am a day late wishing you a happy birthday, Debbie!!! I'm so glad you had a perfect birthday, though!!!! How special that Chris cooked your favorite meal for you and made that special cake!!!!

My grandmother's birthday was on Sept. 17. We always celebrated together for as long as she lived, and she never let me forget that if I had come 30 minutes earlier, I would have been born on her birthday! We could have celebrated together this weekend too!
