    :)

    Hmmm...my dream dog's easy--I have him!

He looks like the Border Collies on "Babe" as he is a Border Collie.
    Color: Black with white marking
    Gender: Male
    Name: Blazer

That's my dog of course. If I had to exclude him, I'd say:

    Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
    Color: tan and white
    Gender: Male
    Name: Butterscotch
He would be a super smart herding dog, a best friend for "Blaze" and would look like a perfect show dog!

heh sorry but I cant help myslef here

hate to disapoint you but that will never happen. show dogs are bred for looks alone, and herding instict is NOT harwired into a herding breed, to keep the instinct you have to breed for herding ability and that alone. basicly its like saying you want the perfect baseketball player but he must be bewteen 5'6 and 6', blond hair, blue eyes, between 100-150 lbs.. well you get the picture lol

hey, I know I could never have a perfect showdog, but heck, what's wrong with dreaming anyway?? My dog has a great herding instinct even though he's never been trained...he's been herding our family members since he was 7 weeks old, lol!! I know what you mean by a "perfect show dog" though--I know I've never seen one, nor will I ever get one for that matter, still, I like to think about it!

Yeah.. which is usually the reason those wonderful dogs end up in shelters.. which is where I got my Border Collie... BC's are NOT meant for anyone.. They're like a big version of Parson/Jack Russell Terriers - FULL of energy!! Plus many have a great (but people that get a BC and are not familiar with the breed don't think so) herding instinct...which is what they were bred for.. I have a lot of experience with herding dogs... grew up with and still have a Sheltie, my cousin has a BC, I used to have a deaf Aussie/BC mix, and now I have a pure BC myself. They're great dogs (for the right owner).. and I hope to run a BC and Aussie rescue one day and do Agility, Herding, and Obedience with 'em. I can't see myself now without one of these great dogs! ^_^

I completely agree, with cloverfdx also. we rescued an 8 month old aussie/border from the Sacramento Shelter in March.. he was the most adorable puppy I think I've ever seen, really lanky and sweet and mostly white with black on his face and really big, light brown eyes. He was on the website and overdue to be PTS, so my dad went and got him. we found out his former family turned him in because he was "hyper" and "knocked the kids over", which is pretty unusual for a BC puppy! he wasnt adopted because the shelter put him in sick bay, and listed him as deaf.. although he was not at all! we found the most awesum home for him in East Bay, with a BC-experienced family that we met at a flyball tourny. they named him Danger and he's already in advanced flyball classes ^.^

Border Collies are totally one of the cutest and most recognizable breeds, but you're so right about their intellegence and energy.. they aren't a dog you can leave in the backyard all day, or that will sit around the house. Atleast a lot more BC rescues are forming and people are actually becoming a lot more educated on the breed. what really kills me is when I see ads for Border Collie pups from puppy mills and pet stores... its the worst. anyway, I noticed the first pic you used was from Border Collie Rescue of Northern California! thats the cutest dog ;P

    breed - Border Collie
    color - red/white
    gender - girl
    name - Ruby
other - hopefully, she's ball crazy and loves Gonzo!

I am in loove with Cardigans since I met the coolest girl in obedience with the cutest Cardi ever.. I probably wont get one anytime soon, but I can dream...

    breed - Cardigan Welsh Corgi
color - blue bi merle with blue eyes
    gender - male
    name - Bo

    dream dog.......

Firstly I agree with the last post, Border Collies can be brill great dogs, the are ssoooo intelligent etc BUT in the wrong hands they can end up nervous wrecks, especially dogs like where I live (the Derbyshire countryside England) which are bred for herding sheep, many have a long line of working dogs in the parentage, they are bred to work and that is all they want to do. I would always say to someone wanting a BC, NOT to get one from a farmer, they don't always make good pets unless you have the time to devote to them, they where bred to work day after day on the hills with sheep, being the constant companion of the farmer.......not to live in a house, left on their own for hours etc.

OOPS I have gone on far to long ....sorry

My dream dog is the one I have now........Sasha a GSD + Mal.....whom I luv dearly
