I think you get the 'Nostalgic Xmas gift that everyone got" Prize for your story!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL. Last night we decorated the tree and it was wonderful.. Travis (eldest grandson) had some of his friends stop by and everyone that came in was handed an ornament to hang and had to pick out "their" spot on the tree. His Jewish girlfriend was over and when I handed her a special feather coated, egg shaped Christmas ball to hang (after calling her our "token Jew" - with laughs) she said it was the first Christmas tree she had ever decorated. She had tears in her eyes. My son's best friend came by - we ended up playing cards until 4:30 this morning A wonderful, laughing Christmas morning opening silly and thoughtful presents and putting more logs on the fire and fresh, warm doughnuts in our tummies. Now they have all gone to Jenny's mom's for dinner and the dogs, cats, fire & I have the house to ourselves. ahhhh, I believe I'll fix myself a drink at Dick's place and offer one up for anybody that stops by. Love you.

Richard, just read your last post. BAKE!! They don't call me Baker for nothin' We can do the hokey pokey through the kitchen while we sprinkle flour all around!

Any chance I could get a really strong BM???? I need to get psyched up for dinner at my brother's place.

A story: This morning I went to visit my Auntie who is 94 and in a long-term care home. She's had about 3 small strokes so far but is completely mobile and the mind of a 20 yr old. So I walk in there today and all can smell is alcohol and there she is sitting on her bed with a liquer glass filled with Baileys. My two cousins are there as well and participating in the party. So she gets through the first one and asks for another. 20 min later she asks us to leave because she needs a nap before lunch What a life!!!! Party on Auntie Ruth.

Bake??? Not me. I couldn't even fake bake!!!!

LOL Good one Gini. You guys are way too fast for me today. I think I'll just take a seat by the fireplace and people-watch. Let me know when the baking is done. I'll come in and mop up all the flour.

Well there is one Christmas that stands out for me. My first bike, and the one I learned to ride without training wheels, was a second hand one. It had a little rust and my dad had painted it. One Christmas morning, and I can remember it so vividly in my mind, I came downstairs and there was a gorgeous red bike sitting next to the tree with the lights reflecting off the shiny metal! That was for me a "magical moment."

When I was still of the age to believe in Santa, every year we left a cup of coffee and a banana for him (unlike my friends who left milk and cookies). My dad always said he must get tired of the same old thing at each house. I was always so excited to see the peel in the morning. It wasn't until a couple of years later that I looked back at how similar Santa's tastes were to Dad's. It seemed that they both loved coffee and bananas.

That's funny Pam, Sean - (Jenny's youngest) kept coming down the stairs this morning, walking around and then going back up waiting for everyone else to wake up. I so much wanted him to come down and see a shiny bike under the tree. Not that he wanted one, but seemed the right thing to do. Or maybe a RedRider sleigh or wagon or something silly like that they did get some paint ball weird things with laser lenses, whatever the H@#L that is

LOL Hey, I can cook up a storm, I just can't bake Laurie, you 're on a roll. Don't quit now. Another round for you??

Pam: I remember my first bike too. Is was the "typical girls bike" , all painted pink with pink streamers coming from the handle bars. I'm sure it was second-hand too because we wouldn't have been able to afford a new one. Life was so much simpler back then. What happened??

Another story - Christmas tradition: Ever since I can remember my dad always insisted on having rum in his coffee on Christmas morning. He called it "Pusser Rum" because it was the 151 proof Lambs Navy Rum. When I was older and still living at home, I decided to try it out. After 3 cups of coffee, I was out for the count. To this day my Mom still upholds the tradition. This morning she said she only had 2 cups of coffee so she was still good for the day.

Hmmm...sounds like my family is a bunch of drunks. Not really, we just liked to have a good time.

Hi everybody!!!! sorry i'm late today, we had a 1st new tradion and new big memory for now. Clarissa my daughter had her first family christmas at here place. I had to give a little help.
She took her place at the unwrapping circle in the CHAIR .
The next part is a little long ,but here goes, When Clarissa and Roger started dating she needed some car work done so he pawned his custom made electric guatar (sp) well he for got about it till it was to late. My daughter missed hearing him play and singing for her. She mentioned it to me and one evening I mentioned at dinner, well my son decided he would get it back.well we had quite a time trying to get the info as to which one it was . We had to try to keep him from buying a new one and getting it passed him. Well to night was a big new memory. It was so big we had to put 2 boxes around it , so as he opened it only the top of the case showed he thought as a hunting family we had gotten him a gun for hunting. as he pulled it out he kinda got this "I know this case", as he pulled it out he started to get it and when he opened the case , his body sagged and he got weak(I thought he was going to fall) then he started to cry, then stubbled to my son and hugged him for 2 mintues crying. kinda freacked him out we asked him to play foor us he said," I can't I'm shaking too much." I took about 20 mintues for him to get back to normal.
This is the 1st christmas he's had really since he was 16 (he's37)
we had a great day , grown kids are fun too!!!!

    Merry Christmas!

Better late than never, I hope

We had a loooooong lunch at a family friend's house. Very nice, but even nicer to come home and put the feet up

Hope you all had a great day, or are still having a great day, depending on your timezone!
