Sad But Necessary
My husband will take our dog, Roxie, to be PTS today. She's been a part of the family for 15 years now, and a part of the cats lives! She has cancer, deaf, blind, and seems to be degrading now. We've tried to keep her hanging on as long as possible, but now I believe she's experiencing pain. I've been up since 2:30 a.m. with her pacing, panting, and apparent discomfort. This will be a sad day.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
