I agree, Sue, those little feet must be going like crazy to keep up with the big ones. I can also imagine a little toothy smile. You lit a candle, Sue, today I played a special CD - Roger William's *To Amadeus With Love* It is the CD I had played when my Tizzie went to the RB. The first selections are rather somber, but as the CD continues with more tracks, the music lightens and provides a backdrop to joyous romping and *running like the wind*. Even though I can't play this CD without tears, it always brings the picture into focus of the delight of our babies to run free without pain or discomfort.

Sandra, Squeekers will never be forgotten. His name shall remain in our hearts.

Sandra I am sooo sorry to hear that dear Squeekers has passed. It is hard to know and have comfort that they are in a better place.... but he is... and I am sure he is having some tubbies right now and God has the bestest bubbles and tubby toys just for Mr. Squeekers. He knows you did all you could and you will see that sweet little face again some day.

Dear Sandra - Your in my thoughts {{{Hugs}}} across the miles sweetheart.
That tiny little furboy piggie sure was loved so much xxxx You must still be feeling so raw - but know you were the best Mum in the world.
I know you're missing the little fella so much - but remember he's probably having a great old time running *aMucK* at the bridge.

I wanted to let you all know how much your kind words, your caring sentiments, your beautiful poems meant to me. I know that Squeeks is so happy to know that so many cared for him.

The circumstances of his passing and it's suddeness were so difficult to believe and accept. I wasn't home from the 2 hr. drive from Boston but minutes before the phone rang. I saw the phone #/name on the caller ID and while I had a second of panicked type thinking, I was really waiting to hear those words..."He did fine; resting comfortably." I was not prepared for what I heard..."I'm sorry, I have some very bad news..." I literally went numb and dropped the phone. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had just left him, squealing and wiggling and kissing his Mommy on the nose.

One of the receptionists at the hospital was especially kind and caring. She called me the next day to tell me how very sad and shocked she was to hear that he was gone. She gave me some comfort though. She told me before she left work that night she went by the O.R. and gave him a kiss on the head. She said he was on a nice, soft blankie waiting for the Drs. to scrub up. As they began the procedure, she gave "Dr. Ari" a big thumbs up through the window in the door. At least I know my boy was loved in his last moments.

And with so many other furry ones here to care for, including Squeeks lonely and now friendless piggie pal Moon, luckily, I'm kept occupied.

Yesterday was tough. The office of Squeeks "regular" vet called all cheery and upbeat, asking how the little patient was doing. They were so stunned and truly felt saddened to hear that he didn't make it. I admit to having a long crying jag after that. And I still can't clean out his cage. Little bits of his lunch still lay on the floor of his timber hide a way. But, as many of you know, piggies need their play pals, so in a couple of weeks, we'll be going to visit the shelter where both Squeeks and Moon were adopted from, to find another friend for her. Thank you again for being there for me and Squeeks. What wonderful, supportive friends you are. And I know Squeeker would want me to say thank you, too. Love, Sandra

Oh Sandra, it is so hard, especially when you just don't expect it. Everything looked good, but it was not to be. Most of us would have given Squeekers the best chance for health, just like you did. All surgery is risky, but sometimes necessary. You have nothing to blame yourself for.

As it was with my parents' dog Bear, 5 yrs. old in his prime. Nine ER vets working on him to no avail. It shouldn't have happened either.

It's going to hurt so bad for a while, but that is the price we all have to pay for love.

Thinking of you constantly and sending you a big HUG from all of us.

The measure of a successful life is not how big you are or how powerful or even if you have money and lots of stuff, it's how many lives you touch and how much love you leave behind.
Our Squeeks was very very successful.

Connie is so right. Squeekers was the very first piggie I ever knew and he touched my heart and soul. I was so proud to be one of his aunties.

Sandra, you are an inspiration to us all...a role model extrodinaire. If I could be one fraction of the caring mom to my furkids that you are to yours, I will have met my goal.

    My dear Sandra,
I have never had a Guinea Pig, but I have loved them all a lot since I have gotten to know Squeekers, through your loving words. He could not have been more loved, of that I am certain. And no one could have been a better, more caring mom than you.
Every time we lose one of "our own", it is a sad occasion for every pet lover on this board. Losing Squeekers is no different.
My heart breaks for you, but I am comforted to know that there are so many wonderful, precious souls in Heaven, right there with him, showing the way, and he is no longer in pain. You know that Jingles is leading the pack.
I'm sorry I have been away and didn't know of this distressing news until last night. You are in my thoughts, my friend.
