YES, the pics did upset me, and YES perhaps they should have been posted as an attachment - but they weren't. Get over it.
I read the "Grafic" warning, and proceeded anyway knowing I would be upset, and knowing I would remember the pics.

I know this kind of thing happens, and NO, I don't go in search of pics about it. Sometimes, people post things that make you sit up and take notice. This did it for me .....

Instead of finger pointing, referring to dictionary definitions of words, pointing to policy, shooting the messenger etc... take note of what has been said, read it, accept it or not - AND MOVE ON.

I am certain if Karen or Paul take offence, they will remove the thread.

Sudilar, that may be true, very very sad, but true, I suppose. And, I agree with Captain, that I, too, saw the title, and proceded. BUT...I wonder if the message wouldn't have been as well conveyed MINUS the graphics. Cause, that is what we are talking about, right? The message? I know that houses burn down if one is not careful, and I don't need to live through a fire. I know that bullets kill, without seeing the dead body. I know if I punch another human being, I will get in trouble...so, I don't really agree that the only way to convey the message is by requiring us to live through the graphic depiction.

There isn't any way in the world, NOW, that the poster of this thred (whom I do not know, and can't recall any other interactions with), will admit the post was in poor taste. AND, in reflection, I hope ALL of us will realize that our very important mission/message is NEARLY LOST COMPLETELY when we do things that are not within most of our comfort zones. Are we really making a difference by inflaming the others on this board?? Not if by making a difference we are looking to better the lives of all of those that depend on us.

Now, before you go picking apart my every word, and changing it into something it is so clearly not, recognize that I was disgusted by the pictures, and not really in a frame of mind, after reading the original posts, to go out and make a difference. If your goal was to make me aware of what goes on in the world, and some how motivate me to do anything about it, you failed. Was that what you were working towards??

I too, was warned about this thread....now I come and see my #1 pet peeve illustrated here.

Tikeyas_mom, posting these photos was WRONG!!! There is NO explanation for wanting to post pictures of tortured animals online. I don't know if you are going for shock value or if you are just a sick person.

WHY on earth would you reproduce something online like this? Why would you essentially glorify what these evil creatures have done to these poor, defenseless animals? WHY would you give more attention to the "trophy" of evil? Its sick and horribly wrong what you've done. I want answers from you....I'm hoping you didn't mean to do this...but regardless, its wrong and you need to fix this. Its beyond me WHY this thread is still here.

Powerlunger....I notice that you've only responded to any attacks on Tikeyas_mom. Does this type of thread interest you or something? I question why you haven't responded regarding the content...any family relation?

Tikeyas_mom, I can understand wanting to educate poeple on the tragedy of animal abuse....but, my dear, this is the WRONG way to do it. Posting links would have been mildy acceptable...maybe.

I am appalled! I'm sick that I had to view those horrendous pictures just so I could see how to spell your sign on names.

    and by Sudilar:

No matter what the controversy about these pictures, these pictures are real. It is sad beyond words to know that this is actually happening. It makes me angry that so-called humans do this, very angry.

Believe it or not, some people do not realize that these things are happening everyday. Even people I know don't know about this abuse!!! I try to tell them, but I don't know if they get it. Some don't understand why some of us work in rescue. It is for those pictured in this thread. It is for the innocent, tortured ones.

I have to agree with both of them....as adults...one has the option, after reading that the pics are graphic, you have the right to move on...or not....your decision.....

Animal Abuse and Rescue are IMPORTANT Topics....they won't go away until people realize exactly what other people are capable of....Like Sudilar said...they could be YOUR neighbors!!!!

I think any information or photo graphs, regardless how graphic they are very helpful. Yes, sad, sick and cruel but It gives us a better idea of what the hell is going on out there. Someone can tell you what they saw or you can hear it on the news but seeing it gives you a better look inside this cruelity. Something has to be done.

like I said, watch where you click.

I'm sorry, but I don't know a soul over 13 that doesn't know animals are abused. Its common knowledge AND common sense to report something like that. To subject this type of material to anyone under 18 (or 100 for that matter) is discusting and sad.

People KNOW about it, accepting and allowing it to bother them is a whole other issue.

I was just saying...there are ways to do this type of thing...traumatizing people (THIS IS A FAMILY SITE) is not the way to do it....

those...people...should be shot IMO, and I would gladly do the shooting as my aim is not so good.
I cannot fathom the sheer....evilness it could take for a ...human...to do that to a fellow creature, grrrr.

You know, I'm really getting tired of posting the SAME thing over and over again. Please read my post CAREFULLY and stop misquoting me (I don't mean you, Tomb, personally, but everyone)

I have NEVER said this information was unimportant, nor have I EVER said that it shouldn't be on the forefront. So please, seriously, stop making my posts and intentions into something they are not. All I have said is that the pics should be links, so that people who can't deal with the pics can still veiw the info. The fact is, by making it so shocking, the message is being lost in the delivery for a LOT of people.

I have NEVER said I thought it was a good idea to ignore animal cruelty. So WHY are so many people accusing me of that, whether overtly or otherwise?

I'm getting really sick of having to repeat myself. This is totally exhausting. If you really find it necessary to quote me would you at least please read what I've typed before you go on about something that has nothing to do with what I've said? Please?

What a mature statement...your credibility is sinking lower and lower. First, you seem to be signing on as more than one person, now highly educated slams....
