If they haven't yet, ask them to contact Tufts Veterinary School/hospital in Grafton, MA - they have world-reknowned experts. My friend was able to get answers from them and no one else when her foundling pup, a Saint Bernard mix, died suddenly within hours of acting sick at the age of three. It turned out that he had been poisoned, and they were able to tell her what kind of poison and that someone had probably put it out for coyotes (they live in a very rural area) and Tucker found it. It was such a relief for her to know, as she had two other dogs and several cats, and was worried that it might be something contagious.

I told my parents to ask about Navy Protocol that Tufts was working with, but it would not be appropriate for Bandit's treatment. I believe this specialist has contact with all the vet schools on this rare case. There is so much research going on for our pets now. It's amazing!

    Bandit update:

He went to the specialist yesterday and had another radiogram done. It seems that the meds are keeping the fluid level down (thank God). The specialist was very happy! Of course, my parents were elated!!! Bandit is acting just fine. The vet said that he is doing very well.

    Next visit in one month!

Thank you for all for the prayers. Another little miracle in the making!!! Woohoo!
